Attorney General Jeff Sessions says he plans to stay in role, despite Trump’s comments about him

Attorney General Jeff Sessions said Thursday that he plans to stay in his job despite the president’s public assertion that he would not have nominated Sessions to the post had he known that he would recuse himself from the investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election.

At a news conference ostensibly meant to announce the takedown of an illicit online marketplace, Sessions said he had the “honor of serving as attorney general,” and he planned “to continue to do so as long as that is appropriate.” Asked how he could keep working, having apparently lost President Trump’s confidence, Sessions responded: “We’re serving right now. The work we’re doing today is the kind of work that we intend to continue.

“I’m totally confident that we can continue to run this office in an effective way,” Sessions added.

On Wednesday, the New York Times published an article about an interview with Trump in which the president said he would not have appointed Sessions attorney general had he known Sessions would recuse himself from the investigation into whether the Trump campaign coordinated with Russia to influence the 2016 election.

And here I was being told it was 4D chess being played. At this point I’d be happy with 1D chess.

I just do not see any evidence of this 3D chess game Trump is playing as some here continue to see.

That would be your problem—not the President's.

You still seem to be under the delusion that the President doesn't know what he's doing, when precisely the opposite is the case.

If you think this man got to be President of the United States—against all odds—by some sort of fluke, you're out of your mind.

The guy is ten times more competent than you're willing to acknowledge.

You just watch. Next thing he's going to do is fire Mueller...

Well bully for him, but Sessions has to DO something to show he gives a crap about the things WE care about, like is he investigating Hillary? Clinton Foundation? Huma? Susan Rice? Brennan? Comey? Leakers? Is he looking for/finding leakers? Will he define and delimit Mueller’s current blank check scope of authority and keep him off Trump’s business interests no matter how far back in time?

Sessions has shown no heed to Trump agenda except Drugs and immigration enforcement.

We also have Tillerson throwing stones at Israel, and disregarding Trump’s other doctrines across the world.

A lot of this goes back to the “chief of staff” (Rinse Prebius) who seems to not be doing his job

Why couldn’t Sessions assign an ASSISTANT AG to “The Russians” thing?

There are thousands. They are all small to mid sized. Your point is well taken that no major city or large sized city is conservative. They are all populated and run by commie libs.

I live in a small valley town an hour north of Sacramento. It is very conservative and we always elect Republicans for state House and Senate. Not that it matters to the Democrat super majority.

Just saying there are tons of small convective cities.

There are thousands....Just saying there are tons of small (conservative) cities.

That's good, that means there are thousands of great candidates for other administrative positions as well.

We should get the word to Mr President that he should get thousands of deplorables in there (and the judiciary)....make more RAT heads explode, and turn control of the federal government back over to "We The People".
