Shattuck: Cancer doesn’t know what it’s up against in battle with maverick
The Boston Herald ^ | 07-20-17 | Tom Shattuck

Posted on 07/20/2017 3:19:34 AM PDT by calvincaspian

His North Vietnamese captors told him he’d never go home.

They beat and tortured him to no end, but the Navy flyer’s patriotism manifested itself in historic defiance, refusing to do the easy thing for his own reward.

He would not accept freedom before other prisoners who’d been there longer than he: It wasn’t the right thing to do, he thought.

Instead, he gave the enemy hell.

Now he has brain cancer.

And he’s 80 years old.

It’s the appropriate time to loudly honor this war hero for his toughness and resolve in combat and captivity, but subsequently during his political career.

He has shown an integrity and individualism that goes unduplicated in modern politics.

I have had three people I am close to die of Glioblasts. Each were excessive, heavy drinkers of diet soda which contains aspartame. Aspartame has been a suspect in brain cancer for years.

I’m sure this guy and the Boston Herald colluded with the rest of the MSM to eviscerate McCain in his run against Obola - to these papers and their writers, they always find the right thing to say about Republican’s after they’re gone or on their death bed.

This cancer strikes at the very heart of the consciousness and soul of anyone who may be afflicted with it. May John McCain gain the serenity and courage to face this coming most challenging trial in his lifetime, and make his peace with whatever lies in the Great Beyond. From some things, there is simply no going back.

Very nice Steel... Amen to that.

So, maybe, “Wet Start Johnny”, the arsonist of the USS Forrestal DEADLY fire, while on station in the Gulf of Tonkin, offshore from North Vietnam, might have a malady that may color his sins.

He is known as a ‘songbird’ by other POW’s.

He is known NOT to have voted for any veterans’ benefits bills.

I am a cancer survivor. I do hope that the smell of the chemo reminds him that he has been given a gift to confess his chronicled sins.

This is where we are nowadays. This country is in the midst of its downfall and John McCain has aided and abetted the evil Democrats in destroying this country. The only way McCain was/is leaving the Senate is through death and it’s coming naturally. This is not a Scalise situation, but he is 80 years old.

There's been an uptick in cases... something in our modern world is contributing. Aspartame could easily be suspect... I suspect it's something with strong market profits. Something ‘protected’ from close scrutiny. Vitamin overuse, Aspartame, cell phones... any or none? It might be years before we know...

I couldn’t stand his fawning “concession” speech. What a POS and enemy of our country, in war and politics. So many here still accept every word Big Media excretes, as long as it isn’t DIRECTLY related to politics.

I wouldn’t wish cancer on anyone even if I do not agree with them or their methods.

Thoughts and prayers are with Senator McCain and his family. I also pray that their thoughts and prayers are with the future of the nation. Senator McCain should step down so DC can do its very important legislative work.

I Remember when aspartame, sugar substitute, first came on the market. It caused brain cancer in laboratory animals, so the government banned it until further research. After exhaustive research, it was found to be “safe” and marketable........

Aspartame has been a suspect in brain cancer for years.

That may be, but I don't think we need to look any further than McCain's melanomas .... and he's had many.

“Cancer doesn’t know what it’s up against”

Like anybody else stricken with cancer, McCain is anonymous to it. We can pretend alright, but when it has your number, cancer can move in on you and then force both of you out. All I can say is “good luck” and wish you well, Senator. This time, bailing out is not an option. Maybe try to maintain control, set it down in a field and wait for your first-responders. Godspeed, John McCain.

“He might fight a little harder knowing that President Trump will be at his funeral...”

Pretty much sums him up to a tee.

Sounds about right but I do not think glioblastomas are secondary cancers. Could definitely be wrong though.
