Actually it would be Session's obligation to discuss it with Trump before making that decision.

As strongly as Trump feels about it, it was his obligation to let Sessions know during the weeks when it was constantly in the news. There were obligations on the part of several: Sessions, Trump, Preibus, the WH counsel and other advisors Trumps listens to the most.

And we also have Tillerson and Mad Dog making decisions that are at odds with the policies Trump ran on. There is simply at lack of coordination of policy decisions at times in several departments.

Cabinets are supposed to meet and discuss critical issues when necessary.

Yeah like he didn't have anything else to do.

The democrats, probably with the help of a few RINOs, set a trap for Sessions and whether by naiveté or design Sessions stepped into it. He was naive to thin Rosenstien was honest but the speed with which Mueller was on the job look a lot like this was an extremely well thought out plan.

I for one don't think Mueller is after Trump, I think he is there to destroy all the incriminating evidence of Hillary ad Obozo's crimes. But we shall see. Taking down Trump would be a bonus for them.

Trump has done so, numerous times. According to leaks within the press, Trump has voiced his displeasure in private, and according to other previous stories, Trump let it be known in the press before this interview.

Sessions didn't take the subtle hints (obviously) because he is still in the job.

Moreover, any other maneuvers by Trump to turn Sessions around could be used by the media and Democrats to accuse Trump of "meddling" or "trying to influence ongoing investigations." Only Sessions has the power to fire Mueller, and that is the only ammunition his enemies need.
