One problem with it is that its never enough.
You’re right, it never will be, because it will be nothing. Inflation, because of the extra money, will raise the price of everything the same amount as the free money.
It will never be enough. I’ve been making six figure income for nearly 20 years and I always want to make more the following year. It’s a basic human trait to always want more than what you currently have. It’s actually what made this country great. Why would Steve Jobs bring out the iPhone if he was already satisfied with the billions he made from the iPod? One is never satisfied with what they already have. So handing out universal income is a fool’s errand. Make people earn their incomes and they will attain the lifestyle their skill set warrants.
We will always have poor people and unsuccessful people. You could make the minimum wage $1,000 an hour and those at minimum wage will continue to be poor because prices of goods and services will increase accordingly, keeping them at the bottom of the food chain.
