Two GOP senators to vote against ObamaCare repeal-only bill [one more kills it]
The Hill ^ | 07/18/2017 | Jordain Carney

Republican Sens. Shelley Moore Capito (W.Va.) and Susan Collins (Maine) said on Tuesday that they will not support moving forward with the plan to repeal ObamaCare with a delayed replacement.

"My position on this issue is driven by its impact on West Virginians. With that in mind, I cannot vote to repeal ObamaCare without a replacement plan that addresses my concerns and the needs of West Virginians," Capito said in a statement.

Collins added to NBC that she is still a "no" on proceeding to the House-passed bill, which would be used as a vehicle for any Senate action.

The move leaves Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) with no room for error. With a 52-seat majority he can only afford to lose two senators and still let Vice President Mike Pence break a tie.

Sen. Rob Portman (R-Ohio) said early Tuesday he would need to review the bill, but told reporters that a repeal-only bill "will add to more uncertainty."

The GOP is intent on committing political suicide.

These senators have no clue. The constitution does not enumerate or delegate the power to control healthcare to the feds, it is therefore reserved to the states by the 10th amendment. These senators should be defending against unconstitutional federal power grabs while defending the constitutional rights and powers of their true constituents, their states! If their voters want more welfare regarding healthcare, let them vote for it to be provided by their own state governments.

If there is 51 (or more) votes for repeal ...

That is a huge IF ... and I can pretty much guarantee you that there aren't 51 votes -- or even 45 votes -- for a full repeal of ObamaCare.

Yes. Trump can EO change who gets exceptions and is on Obamacare. If the Senate fails on repeal, he can and should immediately force Congress (or at least all those Congressional aides who were excused from OCare) onto Obamacare...Action from Congress would be immediate. They will not allow themselves or all their aides to face OCare.

From each according to his ability, to each according to his need. Marxism-Leninism-GOPism.

Single payer is a done deal. Think about how you want it to work.

There's going to be a huge battle over the private option.

If there is 51 (or more) votes for repeal

There aren't 30.

We need to get this fix tactic into the news cycle. If any Trump staffers troll this site, please pass it to a Trump Twitter threat. Swamp heads will explode.

“In the past, there have been presidents very good at getting Congress to bend to their will.
Where is the “art of the deal” on repealing Obamacare?”

1. Different Congresses are comprised of different dynamics and people.

2. The “Art of the Deal” concerns business deals between businessmen who are subject to immediate accountability for their decisions, not a political manual on how to herd double-dealing weasel politicians.

Where is the "art of the deal" on repealing Obamacare?

The Democrats' scorched earth policy is the problem. Ordinarily there would be at least a handful of Democrats willing to work with Republicans in return for some concessions on projects in their States. But the present crop in the Senate are wagering their futures--and for that matter, in effect, many of ours, in the total war they are waging on our President.

God willing the Republicans will wake up and realize the stakes, and understand that if we simply hold fast, 2018 can prove a watershed in our favor. God Help us, if they do not get the message, and we lose the momentum to restore America.

A vote FOR this abomination is a vote AGAINST the repeal of Obamacare.

“If you go down her twitter post on this issue you’d get the opinion Obama care is the best thing sliced bread.”

Sure, because the a hole votes think they are getting something for free, how can one run against that. Most of us on this site realize we are paying for others free ride and worse, the ride is not free.

My advice to Trump: have a national address. Point out no matter how hard you pushed for this thing to be done, those in DC do not wish to go along. Tell them point blank, you are going to let it die its natural death, one that was ordained from the get go. Lastly remove the onus to have O care by EO.

Let the Congress stew it its juices regarding balancing the budget and point out you will veto any tax bills that are increases to pay for O care and at the same time will veto any increase in the debt level till the Congress gets this sorted out.

No, we’re done as a country. The future of this entire world is a bloodbath. The vile leftists the world over have spread the suffering to every inch of this globe. We have an illusion that everything is fine now if we tuned out politics, but this is the fall of the American Republic.

I could not agree with you more. Fed up with Republican low life and Democrat “traitors”. McConnell and Ryan must go, immediately or, the Republican Party will die in the same fashion the Democrat Party is now killing itself.

I am mow believing, we should let Obamacare stand and, destroy itself, taking the Democrats with it. We can then primary the Republican Establishment vermin, and take full control of the country. Trumpie should be building a new political party like the French leader Macon has done. the American people are sick and tired of all in Washington, DC.

We, the people must end this tyrant reign of power and no action in support of common day folks. Drain the contaminated sewer in Washington.

The socialist-democrat “obamantion” program needs to shitcanned in its entirety.

The socialist-democrats and RINO suck-asses need a wake up call on this. K-street is not their constituency, Americans are. This needs to be pounded into these almost useless politicians’ heads incessantly.

Healthcare used to be affordable and available until the insurance companies, hospitals, investors, and politicians entered into an unholy alliance. Doctors, technicians, nurses, and medical staff have been reduced to McDonald's style line technicians.

Why spend a couple hundred grand on a doctor's degree when the government and insurance companies only pay out the equivalent of minimum wage?

Would you want someone who makes minimum wage, and is burdened with endless bureaucratic dead weight and the specter of endless litigation performing open heart surgery on you?

I was wondering if they had to votes for a full on repeal. To many nut jobs such as Collins. I think she likes Obamacare.
