Clinton Donors Have Picked Their 2020 Democratic Presidential Nominee

Since Hillary Clinton’s unexpected loss to Donald Trump, her donors have strategized with Democratic leadership about how to revive the failing party. Billionaire George Soros held a closed door conference with wealthy donors in November 2016 that addressed how to “take back power” and was attended by House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi. On the weekend of Trump’s inauguration, David Brock hosted a retreat for the most prolific Democratic donors to figure out how to “kick Donald Trump’s a--.” On July 15, Page Six reported that Sen. Kamala Harris, a potential 2020 Democratic presidential candidate, met with top Clinton donors in the Hamptons. Many figures in Clinton’s inner circle attended, including Clinton’s 2008 Campaign National Finance co-Chair Michael Kempner, donors Dennis Mehiel and Steven Gambrel, and Democratic National Committeeman Robert Zimmerman. Harris also attended a separate luncheon hosted by one of Clinton’s top lobbyist bundlers, Liz Robbins.

Harris’ meetings with Clinton’s donors signal that they are rallying behind her as the 2020 Democratic presidential nominee. Harris has emerged as a leading figure in the Trump Resistance; Politico reported that the hearings regarding Trump’s connections to Russia have enabled the Democratic Party to frame her as Trump’s most aggressive critic. In response to one of the hearings she was involved in, she launched the slogan “courage not courtesy.” However, despite this catchy slogan, Harris has historically lacked the courage to hold her donors accountable when they have broken the law.

I warn: DO NOT TAKE THIS WOMAN (Kamala Harris) LIGHTLY.

She is dangerous, not be just because she is a militant commie, but because she can win.

Like 0bama in 2008, she will be a 4 year Senator who is incredibly popular among the party base. Here in California she is beloved. Blacks that stayed home in 2016, will come out in droves to vote for her. Hispanics will give her at least 70% of their vote. Millennials love her and will come out in droves for her. Those who were 14-17 years old in 2016 will be elegible to vote and will come out in droves for her.

Don’t take anything for granted. Harris can win and win big. Don’t just assume the rest of the nation is smart enough not to vote for her. They aren’t. Americans like “articulate” minorities who make them feel good. Harris can win and would probably be the favorite to win.

If she is their nominee I will do everything I can to fight and prevent her from ever entering the WH except as a guest or a prisoner in chains.

Seizing the White House from Trump Is most likely her singular desire. If she runs, she’s going to have to be absolutely sure she wins it. Losing to Trump twice (and three times all together) would completely distroy her. The RNC and the FEC had better be beware and be prepared for the crap they’re going to pull.

I don't know how you can say the 14th amendment is clear on that when it doesn't say that, or mean that, at all. What it does say is, "All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they reside...".

Note there are only two options. Born, or naturalized. That's because those are the only two ways people become citizens. Requiring a "natural born citizen" simply disqualifies the other option, naturalized citizens.

And no, "under the jurisdiction" doesn't mean anything about two citizen parents. It means people who are subject to the law, the obvious meaning of "jurisdiction". So it creates exceptions for diplomats and invading soldiers, who are aren't subject to domestic law.

It's important to realize that the 14th amendment didn't create these rules. It only codified in the constitution what was already done. These terms all had pre-existing meaning. Birthers have just substituted their own meaning for the words.

"Vattel says both parents have to be citizens..."

Vattel not only has no bearing, but his quotes are taken out of context. He was simply observing the practices in various countries and when he wrote that passage he described what certain European countries did. But he immediately followed it by noting that some countries were different, including...Britain! Since the US practice is simply an extension of British practice, as the Supreme Court has already noted, even Vattel is no support for Birther wackiness.

"Obama,Cruz,Haley,Jindal—not eligible to be President."

Every one of them is perfectly eligible.

"Eight years of Obama taught us to take the Constitution literally."

The constitution does not say anything about two citizen parents. You aren't taking it literally, you are reading something into it that isn't there.

What eight years of Obama did is drive the birthers nuts.

Don’t agree. The Obama regime, as we know it now and as it will be framed during the next 3 years, is the kind of mistake not to be repeated during the same generation.

Kamela would be the perfect choice to make the Democrats feel warm and squishy, and the perfect choice to repeat the stomping the Democrats got in 1984.

Everything you say about Harris is correct and I agree.
I certainly will do everything possible to work against her.

But I always like to look at reality. Living in WA state for 15 years, I got to know tons of white liberals and how they think. That is how I conclude that they will all come out of the woodwork to vote for a black female liberal candidate. The liberals have a warped mind. Logical reasoning does not work with them.

And the black voters have already proven themselves to be racist by voting 95% for a black candidate.

Then add the vast number of Hispanics who hate Trump. I am afraid Kamala Harris would defeat Trump in 2020.

So she's no different than Obama. Given the army of double-voting college students with brains full of commie-mush, she will stand a good chance of winning too, if voter fraud isn't dealt with by then.

The natural born citizen requirement is in the Constitution.

One can only naturally be born a US citizen when there is no alternative to being anything else, born here of citizen parents.
Foreign parents bring foreign citizenships.

John Bingham, the author of the 14th Amendment, was very clear of the meaning “Subject to the jurisdiction thereof”.

Your analysis fails because you fogrot to deal with the word “and” before “subject’, which is a qualifier.

Being born in the US does not make you a citizen if your parents are subject to a jurisdiction other than the US.

You have to be born or naturalized AND subject to the the jurisdiction of the US. This has a legal definition when the Amendment was worded in 1868.

The present interpretation of anchor baby is a modern invention by Justice William Brennan in 1982, in a minority opinion.

Vattel was not birther wackiness or screwed up—his text was consulted for the whole Convention.

Natural born was defined by him very clearly.

Also, the Supreme Court has never ruled on the meaning of the phrase, so your comment is inoperative.

Funny you mention an exception for soldiers and diplomats, a concept which comes directly from Vattel.

Also, you are incorrect—the names I mentioned are not eligible for the Presidency.

Cruz was not even born in the US, and, at birth was under the jurisdiction of three countries—Canada,USA and Cuba. You don’t get to pick one. Also, at birth, he was by law, a natural born citizen of Canada.

Birther wackiness is saying you can be born a natural citizen fo two countries or more at birth.

You are going to have to do better.
