Guns, bathroom bills, deportation: Is Texas safe for my California kid?
Sacramento Bee ^ | July 14, 2017 | Shawn Hubler

Not long after California officially banned state-funded travel to Texas this summer, we awoke in a hotel there, behind enemy lines. It had been decades since my last visit to the Lone Star State; our daughter had gotten an offer she couldn’t refuse there from a graduate program. That was the good news.

The bad news was, she’d be spending the next several years in a state whose political leaders are pathologically hostile to the blue state where she was born and raised.

What’s interesting that according to FBI crime statistics of the 20 most dangerous college campuses none are in Texas but in California

UCLA
University of California Berkely
San Diego State
Fresno State
Cal State Riverside

So your daughter will be much safer in red Texas rather than blue California.

Is Texas safe for my California kid?

I dunno. It depends.

Would you consider having your daughter come back home engaged to an actual man and wearing a MAGA hat harm?

Don’t worry about going to Los Angeles. Its exactly like going to a bigger and scrawlier Tijuana except its much dirtier and there is way more crime

Living just 5 miles from California, I think my fear is more and real. Just five miles away, an errant turn, a hike too far, and my constitutional rights are gone.

The editor, a woman, is the deputy editorial page editor, columnist and editorial writer for the Sacramento Bee. Her insular view of the world is precisely what is wrong with Callifornia, and the Bee itself. The whole article should be read to realize just how nasty and shortsighted a woman journalist can be. Hopefully she will find another state for her precious daughter.

From the article:

“On the weekend before the Fourth of July, in the midst of a heat wave, we looked out the window of a hipster coffee shop in Austin and watched pro-Trumpers march by chanting “USA!” and carrying side-arms. Some wore camouflage and combat gear.

One contingent carried a green-and-black white nationalist “KEK” flag; a fat man ran past, bare-chested in what appeared be a partial suit of armor. A pair of middle-age women sported star-spangled bikini tops and Daisy Dukes. It looked like a hate-pride parade.”

Fake news.

Don’t confuse a leftist with objective facts.

No need to tell them that. Texas is turning an unhealthy blue with all the carpetbaggers bringing their leftist dysentery as they flee their own soiled nests.

She writes “how odd it is to feel like and outsider” in her own country. Well, that is how most of us who do not live on the East or West coasts feel every day listening to the main stream media’s asinine liberal perspective on everything.

No. Liberals and their stupid ideas are not welcome. Stay in your shit hole state and don’t bring your mental disease elsewhere.

“Bathroom bills” are deadly. Tell her not to go to Texas. She’ll die if she does!

Your daughter will be fine. She will be 2,000 miles away from you and the sick culture you embrace and may have an opportunity to develop into a reasonable young adult.

Just be sure that she maintains her voting address back home and does not inflict your misguided voting habits upon Texas!

The comments following the article in the SacBee are hilarious, must be mostly FReepers since they follow a theme: “Keep your happy ass and your daughter in CA!!”

If this airhead thinks Austin represents a huge cultural shift, wait until she experiences “real” TX: Midland/Odessa, the East TX “piney woods”, the Panhandle, etc.

"Maybe California wasn’t the only place struggling to balance fiscal prudence and human decency."

Really? 'Balance' is not a word in The Lefty Lexicon. I doubt whether there is a Lefty Jurisdiction anywhere in the USA that is balanced - either financially or mentally.

To the author,

PLEASE keep your precious daughter close to you, at all times.

The End.

East Texas is heaven. This leftist witch would burst into flames if she passed that border.

“Guns, bathroom bills, deportation: Is Texas safe for my California kid?”

No, it isn’t. Keep her and yourself far, far away from Texas. Moving to somewhere in Europe or northern Asia isn’t too far. Just stay away.

So your “daughter” is a transgendered male who is here illegally?

If “guns, bathrooms, and deportations” are your “issues” with Texas, then I’d say “she” would be much safer in Texas than with a nutcase parent like you

See my Tagline

We see where your daughter is going for an education, Shawn. Let’s pray that she gets one and overcomes all the delusional nonsense that you have taught her.
