Delta Airlines has fired back at Ann Coulter — revealing on Twitter how her two-day temper tantrum was over a measly $30.

“We’re sorry you did not receive the preferred seat you paid for and will refund your $30,” the company tweeted on Sunday night. SEE ALSO Delta allegedly boots Ann Coulter from reserved seat Delta allegedly boots Ann Coulter from reserved seat

“Additionally, your insults about our other customers and employees are unacceptable and unnecessary,” it said, in response to Coulter’s weekend-long Twitter rant.

“Additionally, your insults about our other customers and employees are unacceptable and unnecessary,”

Actually stating the truth about their service is neither insult nor unacceptable. Critique is a necessary component of a free market.

Don't want bad press? Don't do dumb things to your customers.

The only difference in the value of the seat she initially paid for and the seat she untimely received is the difference between the cost of the two.

Incorrect. The monetary value assigned by the airline is $30. The actual value of a thing is determined by the buyer - and in the case of a tall person, extra legroom is worth much, much more than $30.

Perhaps the passenger that was seated in Ann’s seat paid $60.00 more and was considered a higher revenue passenger.

How would that change the fact that Ann paid for a specific class of seating and was denied that class of seating - without Delta intending to reimburse the extra cost until she started a fight with them?

The higher paying customer has no more right to that class of seating than the lower paying customer - provided both meet the airline's definition of the cost for that class of seat.

Perhaps the passenger that was seated in Ann’s seat paid $60.00

And perhaps they paid $5. Or $0.

You don't know and it doesn't matter. She paid Delta to reserve a specific larger seat and Delta kicked her out of it, put someone else in it and put Ann in a smaller one. Without explanation.

Their service and their response deserves criticism.

And the airline has the right to ask a passenger to switch seats.

In the past I have been asked and I moved seats and one time I refused to move.

It does not appear that Ann was forcibly removed from her seat.

U are one dumb MF. Based on your logic the government could gag you in the public square if they did not like what you are saying. The constitution is essentially a contract as is a ticket purchase. Delta was in breach of contract. Government can’t tell you to STFU, but I can you “Freaking Fascist.”

By chance do you own stock in Delta?

The attendants recognized her and decided to f#ck with her by randomly moving her out of her seat. I fly all the time and this doesn’t happen all the time. It was on purpose.

The other passenger had a contract with Delta also

But, if Ann believes she has been wronged, she can file suit against Delta.

However, I have read no provisions that prohibits an airline from asking a person to switch seats.

When asked to switch seats, I usually get the reason up front - the flight attendant will say something like “this family needs seats for the kids, etc. When bumped DOWN a class, I demand a reason.

The airline does not have an unfettered right to ask a person to switch seats once that person is actually boarded with that assigned seat.

I flew over 100K miles last year and was not downgraded one time.

This is a very, very poor decision on part of Delta. They failed to fulfill their contract. They failed to offer compensation until confronted. And they acted indignant when they should have expressed regret for the manner in which the incident was handled.

No, and Delta may be the major U.S airline that I have flow the least.

Exactly, she was in the seat, fully paid and some random person is allowed to displace her? WTF?

Oooo....look. A cuck who likely never stands up for itself or its "partner".

The concept of "principle" is foreign, eh.

I have seen nothing that suggests that a ‘random person’ took Ann’s seat.

Not only that contract law is way over his or her or its head.

Suppose I sell you 10,000 bushels of corn at the beginning of the season (Futures contract) and there is a drought. Do I magically get off the responsibility to deliver the corn and get to resell it at the new drought induced higher price. Hell no. Markets would collapse. The dude is a moron.

At this point, I only fly SWA unless I literally have no other choice. Driving from LA to NYC in a Geo Metro would be preferable to flying most other airlines.

I pay for the extra leg room because I have circulation problems in my legs and would be really pissed if they did it to me.

From another article.

“Delta said Coulter had originally booked a window seat and then within 24 hours of the flight’s departure, she changed it to an aisle seat on the same row. At the time of boarding, the airline said it moved Coulter to another window seat on the same row to accommodate seating requests from other passengers.”

http://www.cnbc.com/2017/07/16/delta-fires-back-at-ann-coulter-after-she-rages-about-seat-reassignment.html

According to Delta, Coulter was re-seated on the very same row.
