Democrats are apparently spooked by a sudden drop in voter registrations in the key swing state of Colorado, with Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez arguing that it is connected to President Trump’s investigation into electoral fraud in the 2016 election — and promising to fight back against it.
According to the Denver Post, approximately 3,400 Colorado voters canceled their registrations after the Trump administration sought voter info from the states. The Post notes that the number is hardly enormous, representing only 0.09 percent of the state’s 3.7 million voters.
Trump’s Presidential Advisory Commission on Election Integrity has asked states to hand over data from their voter rolls, reportedly including felony convictions, military status, and voter history. The move has seen pushback from a number of liberal states such as California, New York, Virginia, and Connecticut, as well as some red states such as Oklahoma and Kentucky.

McClatchy reports that the Democratic National Committee and the Colorado Democratic Party have launched an effort to persuade Democrats to stay on the voter rolls.
“If you unregister, you are giving a victory to proponents of voter suppression,” Perez said in an interview with the outlet Friday, adding that they see this as the party’s new rally crying.......
But Perez told McClatchy that they weren’t looking to panic voters, only that they are “concerned.”
“What we’re seeing in Colorado, we hope that doesn’t spread elsewhere,” said one DNC official. “That’s why we’re working on educating voters across the country about this. We’re not trying to incite panic, but the DNC itself is monitoring this situation and is concerned by what we’re seeing.”

If you made voter ID the law of the land with photo and finger print I’d bet a third of Demoncrats would disappear from the rolls.
It is common in some rural elections that only a few hundred votes are cast. Ten block votes by dead Democrats can swing a post from the R column to the D sewer. One has to wonder what the Democrats promised these dead people...
We should demand concrete evidence in each case of a 'voter suppression', no? Why isn't media interested in uncovering such 'story'?
More specifically, 1/3 of Democrat VOTE totals over the last several years.

You have to make an effort to unregister. The story says people give the reason that they fear for their information becoming public. Since voter registration information has always been public, this is a pretty thin smokescreen. Illegal aliens is my guess, with college students registered in more than one state being another possibility.
Another possible reason for withdrawals is it is normal amount of people moving and Democrats are creating a story , fake news.

President Trump hasn’t sent many illegals back but due to the lying and wailing by rats and MSM stooges many are self deporting or just staying south of the border. I’ve felt Trump would find it difficult to actually stem the illegal voting with all the opposition from rats and their minions on the bench. I didn’t realize that the threat of enforcing the voting laws might get him half way there. Is this Trump brilliantly playing the media again?

Agreed, this is most likely why the bogus story about Donald Jr and the Russians is so important to them now, because the effort against voter fraud is a very serious threat to the Dem/media machine.

By “two years”, I was referring to the period beginning 11-8-16, when they assumed they had everything set to cheat their way to a “ win”. Of course Democrats have always cheated, and they don’t even try to hide it. Joe Kennedy messing with elections to ensure JFK’s wins for Senate and President are legendary. They would laugh about it.
I am of the opinion that President Trump should appoint a special prosecutor regarding vote fraud.
It surely is connected. Trump asking for the voter rolls is unnerving to some who vote in several locations or are not legal to vote at all. Many, especially the dead citizens have voted multiply or flat out illegally so many times that it is the natural course for them and they don’t even think about it.
Trump just needs issue an order that any illegal alien caught voting (or registering to vote) will be immediately deported.
Just his saying it will be enough to greatly reduce the number of illegals voting.
If the voter rolls get cleaned up in all the states we might just discover that the leftist Democrats really are a fringe group with no more than 20% of the voters. Perhaps even New York might turn out to be a Republican majority state.
That possibility had occurred to me too. On the other hand, many (most?) people don't think to cancel their voter registration when they move (I didn't, I live in the same county now and still vote in my old precinct.) Perhaps the current controversy reminded some to take care of that detail, instead of assuming that the registrars would some how do it automatically?
