Trudeau tells US governors to ditch 'America First'

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has told governors from across the US to ditch the "America First" motto.

His National Governors' Association speech in Rhode Island on Friday was a first for a Canadian prime minister.

In his speech, Mr Trudeau urged US governors to embrace their neighbour to the north and avoid protectionism.

It is all a part of his aggressive strategy to promote a "thinner border" ahead of vital trade talks with the US renegotiating the Nafta treaty.

President Donald Trump has made "America First" his mantra, shaping his policies on trade and immigration.

But Mr Trudeau, who is a fierce advocate of free trade, told the governors protectionist policies "kill growth".

"And that hurts the very workers these measures are nominally intended to protect. Once we travel down that road, it can quickly become a cycle of tit-for-tat, a race to the bottom, where all sides lose," Mr Trudeau said.

"If anything, we would like a thinner border, not a thicker one."

What the little twit is actually saying: “Canada first.”

That's how I interpreted it. All these libtards can go suck eggs.

“Trudeau is is unhappy he’s getting off the gravy train.”

And with President Trump looking out for our interests for the first time in my lifetime, Trudeau has a world full of company all of whom are upset that we’ve pulled in our money tit!

Trudope is scared because Canada’s economy and their currency are both faltering and they’re hemorrhaging jobs all while Canada blows $25 billion a year on subsidizing the Clinton Foundation and other terrorist groups.

Their unemployment numbers are fake because they count about ten times more people “leaving the workforce” every month than get jobs. See, if you ‘leave the workforce’ you’re not unemployed.

Even though you are.

Reality is catching up to Canada and I hope Trump screws them into the ground like they deserve. If their socialism is so wonderful then they can do it without us.

Yes, then the US can swallow BC and Alberta. Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Ontario can make it on their own. The Maritime provinces can as well. Newfoundland, well, leave the newfies alone. The French are always a pain in the butt.

And that goes for most of the rest of the world as well. The “bank” of America is closed.

Wonder what opinion he would have if Mexico was his southern border and not the US.

“His National Governors’ Association speech in Rhode Island on Friday was a first for a Canadian prime minister.”

I thought US states didn’t make treaties with foreign governments.

And that foreign governments dealt with the US through our own government in DC.

Fake news media and the Democrats run around accusing Russia of meddling in American politics.

When Canada’s Trudeau does it? Silence.

We all know hypocrisy is the homage vice pays to virtue but the cynicism is breathtaking.

Why is it an assault on American democracy for Putin to intervene but with Trudeau its building on shared values?

These people should shut the hell up!

If American priorities are not foremost in the actions of our elected officials, then that means that American priorities are at best secondary to them.
