MSNBC host and former GOP Congressman Joe Scarborough said he is leaving the Republican party Tuesday during an appearance on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.”
Scarborough, who has been blasted by The White House for his criticism of President Trump, made the announcement on the show which will air on Tuesday night.
“.@JoeNBC just announced during @colbertlateshow taping that he’s leaving GOP,” CBS reporter Chris Licht tweeted.

“Republican Party” in ontological terms is useless nowadays. It no longer has any meaning. Joe Scarborough is about as much of a classical “Ronald Reagan” Republican as Mitch McConnell or Paul Ryan.
I’m thinking that this might be their final play against Trump...nothing else has worked, so now they’re going to try to give off the impression is that the Republican Party is BREAKING UP because of Trump.
...but no, it is not that. In reality this shows that Trump is TAKING OVER the party, and giving it back to its BASE, which is us!!! The people who used us for votes, and then treated us like shiite, or useful idiots, are finding there’s no longer any room for this. This is all REALLY, REALLY, GOOD!
