Army Soldier Arrested in Hawaii for Suspected Ties to ISIS (breaking)

A solider stationed at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii was arrested by the FBI Monday for having suspected ties to ISIS.
An official who was not authorized to discuss the matter publicly told the Associated Press the solider was with the 25th Infantry Division at Schofield Barracks in Honolulu and was arrested because of connections he had with the Islamic State group. ( Fox News )
He has been identified as 34-year-old Ikaika Erik Kang and is accused of swearing allegiance to the terror group and attempting to provide military documents and training.

Kang is also a Korean family name.
“Ikaika” (means “strong,” often a boy’s name in Hawaii) probably means he is from Hawaii or has a Hawaii connection.

I know there are thousands of Japanese Hawaiians, one of them is a good pal of mine. Also had a friend Named Kaipo who is Hawaiian, Jewish, Black and Aztec — he moved back to Kaua’i. Korean Hawaiians come as no surprise.
I’d like to become a Freeper-Hawaiian. But I digress. Hope they throw the book at this traitor, wherever his name comes from.

I think you are correct. Looks like a lazy media stock photo that TownHall put up for titillation purposes. I have been reading several other reports on this and no similar images. Apparently this guy is an Army Air Traffic Controller by MOS that’s been on several deployments and decided to take the plunge into the dark side.
