I think gravity makes it pretty hard for atmospheric particles to go on a prison break from the earth. I don’t know what happens during the cyclical polar reversal when the earth’s protective magnetism minimizes, but I think that just lets more solar radiation in. It can’t let atmospheric components out.

Good thing gravity can’t be defeated.

Just got a copy of Bill Bryson’s “A Short History of Nearly Everything” He uses geological evidence to discuss climate changes in the far distant past wayyy before man was here.

The Sahara desert has ancient river beds!
