There was a great deal of unreported polygamy from 1918 thru the 1950’s in England. My father worked for the US Gov’t in Europe throughout the 1950’s ... this wasn’t just a problem in England.

It’s also estimated that 20-25% of British children born between 1940-46 were fathered by someone other than their mother’s husband. American serviceman probably had a lot to do with that, but still...
