To liberals mankind is god and liberal intellectuals are god’s brain.

To many, Government or some controlling authority is their god. For them, people like Obama are the brain. They need masters. Thus, the Group think.

Nothing new:

Evolutionism and communism have always required absolute and unquestioning doctrinal adherence as the state’s de facto binary religion to replace Biblical Christianity.

Zuckerberg is an atheistic communist. He even dresses like one.

Mark, if you can rise from the dead after three days, I’ll consider what you have to say.

I think it will take massive poverty and violence to strip the veneer off the hedonistic consumerism that's, uh, consuming us.

We just live in way too prosperous times for our own good. How can people possibly see the inadequacy of secular materialism until they are made to suffer its dark side?

A Catholic priest helping to run a gay-Pride ‘multi-faith service’ says that the Holy Spirit could direct the Church under Pope Francis to change its teaching on marriage and sexuality to accept gay “marriage.

You know, my comment wasn't meant to offend anybody. Sorry if I did. And Smedley, my comment was about the organized religious institutions (the church) and not about Christianity: they aren't the same thing.

The statement at the top of this post is indicative of why I wonder if the church (choose your denomination, not picking on the Catholics)) can stick to dogma and religious tenets in the face of overwhelming cultural and political pressure. I have no doubt that Christians will not leave the church. But I am uncertain that the church will not leave Christians. These days, politics seems more important than piety.
