Those nitwits are a majority in America. They are Natural Man, who has been “freed” in our post-modern culture from having to pretend to be Christian. But, the Cross offends them greater than all the other symbols because it (and only the Cross) has power, the power to change their hearts.
Natural Man does not want his heart changed. If you can look at a cross and feel comfort, thank God. The people who look at it and feel anger have an eternity of torment ahead of them.
