President says Congress should repeal Obamacare immediately and sort out a replacement later Sen. Ben Sasse says such a move would force Congress to come up with a more workable alternative Sasse recommends a one-year sunset to force Congress' hand

Sasse doesn’t want a tough vote. He knows kicking the can down the road to an mid term election year means nothing will happen.

Thank you President Trump for undoing the mistake of saying “repeal and replace”!
DEMAND THE SAME BILL THEY SENT TO OBAMA
TELL THEM HE WILL ACCEPT THE HEAT
(accolades, really)
Exactly.
Also in Washington Post:
Trumps new idea to repeal Obamacare now and replace it later would be a massive gamble
Exactly.
“The Affordable Care Act is hereby repealed in its entirety.”
A one sentence bill.
NOW yer cookin’ with GAS!
I’m with you: Kill NOW, replace NEVER.
I think this may be the ultimate strategy, though:
Have Congress come up with two — maybe three — untenable bills that can’t get enough votes to get passed so everyone can say, “We tried a couple different ways, but...”
Use that (contrived) failure as the platform to nuke Obamacare totally, in the short term ON THE (eventually to be proven false) PREMISE that it’ll get replaced with something reasonable later. “Later” meaning in the Third — or possibly the Fourth — Millennium.
Kill it then the day after Mercury is absorbed by the sun, start talks on it’s return.
Sounds like a reasonable approach - gives them time to work on an effective replacement for Ocare and get tax reform - a more important and potentially beneficial step - done in the meantime - maybe this new plan is the “surprise” Trump promised.....
No kidding...WTH is THAT used for?
I am so afraid you are right. I hope you are wrong.
Vote on (and pass) a one-sentence bill that eliminates the unconstitutional fines for non-purchase.
Vote on (and pass) a one-sentence bill that remits/rebates the unconstitutional year 2015 fines for non-purchase.
Vote on (and pass) a one-sentence bill that remits/rebates the unconstitutional year 2014 fines for non-purchase.
Boom, then this...
"Trump tells Senate Republicans to kill Obamacare now and replace it later"
Bravo.
That would be very welcome.
Delenda est ACA
