Ungrateful Huns loved Obama and now hate Trump. Geez!
Germany—pffffft! Who needs it.
Bahnlsen Head of CDU economic council.
Bahlsen is a German food company based in Hanover. It was founded in July 1889 by Hermann Bahlsen as the “Hannoversche Cakesfabrik H. Bahlsen”. Led by his grandson Werner Bahlsen, the company remains in family control. German politician Ernst Albrecht was CEO of Bahlsen in the 1970s and the press gave him the nickname, “Cookie Monster”.
Check this family’s past and its company past and for sure you will find your share of goose-steppers.
No different than our own Dims....hard to get outraged over a screwed up country when our own home soil has just as bad or worse.
No. He spoke for 20 minutes. That was the time limit, then they cut him off. To the Germans the time limit was more important than what he was saying.
Very typical of Germans and it gave them an excuse to be rude.
He spoke for 20 minutes;he didn’t go over 20 minutes. He is by the way an excellent speaker. Germans are just so rigid that they care more about the 20 minute rule than the content.
No, the time limit was not 10 minutes. The audience mocked him by saying he said he was going to speak for 10 minutes and he spoke for 20. It may be that they weren’t even clear ahead of time that there was a 20 minute hard limit.
Why is this surprising. The dislike that this administration has for Germany and that Germany has for this administration has been evident from day one.
You may very well be right. The comments made after the meeting show that Germany is feeling very belligerent and belligerent people make stupid mistakes.
I found add’l detail at Bloomberg but believe they are not to be abstracted at FR.

Trump will return the favor by cutting out anything that is not required. They will feel the Bern of their own socialism. The next round of trade negotiations will not be kind to Germany; they will find out that we don’t have to play nice either.
In Europe, they take 50-70 percent payroll taxes. For instance if you make 50,000 Euros they take 25,000; if you make 100,000 they take 700,000. The difference is that you get free college and you get to work where you desire to support civil society.... Now, tag another 20 percent VAT to your leftover 25-30K Euros and you will see a regressive tax state. Of course you get p*ss poor medical care under the guise of socialized medicine.
When I was in Brussels I went to Leuveen to the "Weekend" Emergency Room. I was in a waiting area with over 500 people waiting to be seen. They took me to different part of the hospital with polished wooden walls, similar to an Ambassadors suite in many old world embassies, and took my insurance. I was the only person at the ER with a staff of 7 people milling around to care for me. They told me if I didn't have private health insurance I would have waited several days!
Wilbur Ross is a sharp guy, and has more brains and common sense than the lot of them.
Agreed.
So, you think this deliberate disrespect was all about “time”?
Pay your NATO fees, krauts.
If you are allotted ten minutes, and your microphone has to be cut off at twenty to shut you up, Isn’t that deliberately disrespectful?
How would we react to a German official in the U.S. going long over time disagreeing with U.S. actions on U.S. Soil, even if there was a grain of truth to his comments?
The guy should have been short and to the point. He wasn’t. He got cut off and I think that’s reasoned.

The German response to their muslim invasion has convinced me that German society has become weak & effeminate, as has most of western Europe.
Germany is far more likely to become a part of the Caliphate than resurrect the Reich. The center of European political power is no longer Berlin, Paris, or London; it is now in Brussels, which is rapidly succumbing to islam.
