I personally like to use google, because I like the returns it gives me when I search.

The chance of anything I am likely to buy to be cheaper than what Amazon or Walmart are selling it for are nearly zero anyway.

If that changes, I will change search engines.

I know what they do and why but the argument used to squeeze cash from them is cr@p.

Also quite obvious - as seen by search results. The auto-complete in the search is the first indicator. Trying to take money from them on the proffered argument is ridiculous - are advertising agencies required to show the products of non-paying companies in their commercials?

Not sure I'd want to shell out millions for my super bowl commercial if I'd have to have my competitors' product in my ad.

You’re right, it’s pure extortion.

I’m just not wasting any time feeling sorry for Google, because extortion is at the center of their very successful business model.

I also hate Angie’s List, Philadelphia Magazine, etc.. I suppose there are hundreds that run that same old racket: posing as a quality rating service that protects consumers from quacks by assessing and rating small businesses, when really the “quality ratings” are earned by paying them off.

Google is the king of them all - it’s kind of poetic justice for them to be the victim of extortion.

This reminds me of Ireland raiding Apple.

When you get away with stealing from your neighbors, the richest neighbors look for a new town.

Obama drove them out of the US, and now they are driving the businesses back INTO the US and into favoring the ‘America First’ mindset. That is unnatural to Google as well as to Apple, but there are now cracks in their resolve.

Google’s the only search engine they have? Monopoly, right. /s

Other nation’s greed makes me happy. They want a ‘quick fix’ with someone else’s money and then what happens?

Businesses seek refuge in the good old US of A.

‘In the old days, Google could just deny service to the EU, including Cloud access.’

The USA was their refuge. I bet they sought to escape Obama’s jurisdiction. Now they need Trump.

Muahahaha!

So Trump announces that in lue of the windfall the EU will be getting from Google, the US will reduce it’s share of military funding to Europe by 2.7 billion....just saying that imagining Europe’s heads of state exploding over that issue!

Good for the USA. Remember back in the 80s when Judge Greene broke up the Bell System and what was once the worlds premier communications network, and sent hundreds of thousands of Western Electric jobs to China, etc and Bell Labs to France?

Google,Facebook,Apple and Amazon are far more monopolistic and do less for America. They and their liberal oligarchs need to be deconsolidated.
