Viral posts claim John McCain has quit the Republican Party.
The facts: Sen. John McCain is still a Republican, despite fake stories that claim otherwise.
A story posted on WashingtonFeed.com says: “Senator McCain has definitely renounced any affiliation with the Republican Party.” It quotes the Arizona senator as saying, “I am and always will be opposed to Donald Trump. In fact, I’ve decided that any party that supports supports [sic] him supports the worst America has to offer. For that reason, I’m leaving the GOP and Caucusing [sic] as an independent with the Democrats.”

I wish McCain would resign from the Senate altogether.

the only way I can have respect for a politician that switches sides is for him to exit politics for a couple of years and then make the switch. I can understand having changing views on things but if you get involved in anything more then local politics you should be fairly rock solid on your views.
of course I can understand leaving the Democrat party because of getting older and wiser. I cant see going in the other direction and switching Republican to Demacrat.
McCain has been a closet Democrat at least since 2004, when he tried to get named as vice-president to the Kerry ticket. He was fully willing to throw off his official GOP allegiance then, if it would get him the vice-presidency.
He then proceeded to sell out the GOP in 2008, intentionally throwing the election to Obama by ceasing to campaign in the couple of months running up to the election. Sadly, McCain had been anointed by the RINO GOP in 2008, without any input from actual grassroots Republicans, must as the nomination was railroaded in favor of Hillary by the Democrats in 2016. Although many Republicans opposed him as being a dishonest and psychologically damaged snake, he still got the nomination. The only thing that saved him from performing worse than he did was those who voted for the ticket because of his VP candidate Sarah Palin.

I read the “quote.” This may be fake news, but it might as well be the truth. McCain is always on the wrong side of the single most important issue- illegal immigration. POS? Yes, he’s still a POS!
As Marshall McLuhan said lo those many years ago, “The medium is the message.”
The GOP will realize pick-ups in 2018. I’d rather McCain becomes completely irrelevant as he has been for most of his career.
