CNN is reportedly implementing strict new rules for the network's stories regarding Russia.
CNNMoney executive editor Rich Barbieri sent out an email Saturday regarding the network's new rules after the network a day earlier issued a retraction on one of its stories.
"No one should publish any content involving Russia without coming to me and Jason [Farkas]," said the email, obtained by BuzzFeed News.
"This applies to social, video, editorial, and MoneyStream. No exceptions," the email added. "I will lay out a workflow Monday."
The new restrictions come after CNN on Friday retracted a story that connected Anthony Scaramucci, a prominent ally of President Trump, to a Russian investment fund managed by a Kremlin-controlled bank.
On June 22, 2017, CNN.com published a story connecting Anthony Scaramucci with investigations into the Russian Direct Investment Fund, the news organization said in a statement.
That story did not meet CNN's editorial standards and has been retracted. Links to the story have been disabled. CNN apologizes to Mr. Scaramucci.
The retracted story had claimed that Senate investigators were looking at the activities of the $10 billion Russian investment fund in connection to Scaramucci, who served on the executive committee of Trump's transition team.
A source close to CNN told BuzzFeed the incident was a "massive, massive f--k up and people will be disciplined."
CNN arrogant reporters to their boss, “We don’t need no stinkin’ rules”. We make up stuff as we go along and that’s that.
And the winner in all of this is Putin. The losers, the American people.
Let the revolution begin.
This won’t prevent the CNN “panelists” from finding fake Russians under every bed and whining about it.
The DNC has probably issued marching orders to tone down the “Russia” stuff “and start talking about stuff people actually care about” but most of the CNN “panelists” are so dumb and so brainwashed by their own propaganda they won’t get the message until DNC thugs beat them up in the back alley.
Sucker has dropped coverage of real news at CNN in favor of political news, which is much, much cheaper, with all kinds of people throwing FREE content at you.
If you get banned from covering government, the strategy suddenly sinks like a rock, and all of the execs get fired.
I imagine that they are feeling the heat from advertisers now.

At this point, what difference does it make? The latte machine’s been hacked.
Scaramucci NEEDS to sue the pants off of them!!!!
Yes, fake CNN has standards: don’t get caught lying.
Everything has to be smears with plausible deniability.
All Fake News must originate from the editorial staff in order to coordinate with other fake news.
I was hoping one of the FR lawyers would a answer, but I would bet you are right.

“Can Scaramucci sue them over this story?”
Absolutely he can. They did real damage to his reputation because the reality is that the Democrats in a few years will quote the original story as if it were a proven fact.
Also, CNN did this out of malice and with an intent to cause the man harm and that means they’re not immune to a libel lawsuit.
Thank you. I hope he sues them for a huge bundle.
