Sitting on my boat right now in Ventura Harbor. Waiting for the boat to dry off so I can do the wood handrails. It's a gorgeous, sunny 68 degrees. 🏝⛵️

Very nice area. I know a retired couple (actually they’re my brothers’ friends) who live aboard a ketch in Ventura Harbor. I don’t know if there is any way to earn a living anywhere along the central CA coast. I’ve never been able to discern one outside of agriculture, owning a winery or a restaurant that has already been there 25 years.

I guess one could own a cannabis shop! Geez, I went to my local shopping center and one of the spaces, and not a small one, had turned into a vape shop. It was fairly large, about 30 x 30, not like a 60’s headshop at all. All the showcases were brand new, it looked like a jewelry shop, not hippyish at all. There were literally thousandes of pipes and bongs for sale. I couldn’t believe it, it was merchandised like a 7-11, there was no space bigger than 3 square inches where there wasn’t something for sale. I told the guy behind the counter “whoever owns this store believes the future of cannabis is going to be huge”. He said “Thaaaaaaat’s right!”
