There aren't the votes for repeal by itself. And even if there were, the political consequences would fall on the GOP in 2018. Losing control of the Senate and/or the House would be a disaster and effectively finish off the Trump agenda.

What I am reading in today's thread appears to be "cognitive dissonance".

What is the Trump agenda - REPEAL and replace? or Trump's RINO care (A.K.A. Obamacare with a Republican stamp of approval?)

Legislation must be passed - REPEAL.

Trump is removing the Executive branch Obama era socialist implementations. All to the good. However the next socialist president can and probably will strike down Trump's good work as it is only at the Executive level.

Legislation must be passed - Your LOCAL reps./Senators must be voted out of office if they do not work on REPEAL, the next federal Budget AND revision of the TAX code.

The Four Senators - Cruz, Lee, Paul, Johnson are doing GOD's work in keeping the government at bay.

Agreed. Brennen was rabid at the time. Did Brennan push this on his own? Or did the WH push it?

IMHO....the Democrat Party will die politically, even before the Mid-Term elections of 2018. There are two approaching Governor elections in November, 2017, this year, in New Jersey & Virginia. While both are right now “rated” “toss-ups”, I believe the Republicans, with unceasing effective campaign efforts, can hold on to the New Jersey state house and with massive Republican campaigning & turnout in Virginia, they can win the Virginia state house.

The Dems have won the popular vote in six out of the last seven Presidential elections. The rapidly changing demographics of the US fueled by immigration and minority birth rates will make the Dems the permanent majority party within a decade.

There is no way the Reps win the governor races in NJ and FL. Both states are now solid blue in statewide races. I lived 36 years in VA and watched it change from red to blue. And I grew up in NJ.

Ms. Ronna Romney McDaniel...Chairwoman of the Republican National Committee, get that “MOJO” of yours into active gear right now and make that happen....like today!!!

Not going to happen regardless of how much effort she puts into it.

Why should the gummit tell people they have to buy insurance let alone what kind of healthcare.

Yes indeed, what in the hell should the ever increasing hand of the ever more intrusive socialist state be doing in our lives?

Those on Medicaid pay no premiums. It is all free. They don’t want to give it up even with the access problems. Obama added all these people to Medicaid, a single payer system as is Medicare. The only piece left is those in the middle incomes.

In N.J. one RINO is leaving and another RINO may have a chance - I do not see any upside to this

In Virginia a RINO Ed Gillespie - so can we say the Virginia is not just like any North Eastern state and only Socialist RINOs have a minor chance of winning?( Democratic Lt. Gov. Ralph Northam leads Republican Ed Gillespie 47 – 39 percent.)

Yep, and the ties seem to run deep. And there is the Mexican connection as outlined in the article.

Fritsch, who served as the Journal’s bureau chief in Mexico City and has lectured at the liberal Wilson Center’s Mexico Institute, married into a family with Mexican business interests. His wife, Beatriz Garcia, formerly worked as an executive at Grupo Dina, a manufacturer of trucks and buses in Mexico City that benefits from NAFTA, which Trump opposes.

Fritsch’s Fusion GPS partner Thomas Catan, who grew up in Britain, once edited a business magazine in Mexico, moreover. A third founding partner, Glenn Simpson, is reported to have shared dark views of both Russian President Vladimir Putin and Trump. Before joining Fusion GPS, Simpson did opposition research for a former Clinton White House operative.

Money talks, BS walks. Medicaid (medical welfare) reimburses providers @ pennies on the dollar.

Yes indeed, finally some sanity on this thread.

-- IMO Brennan is the central figure. --

At minimum, he, Comey and McCabe were working toward the same ends. Brennan could not have pulled this off by himself. No question tpoo, the CIA has assets in the US press.

IMO, labeling this as a coup attempt is not hyperbole. It is ongoing, and has been amazingly effective at deliegitimizing the results of a presidential election.

Yeah...and if you are on Medicare...you can’t pay cash to a doctor outside of the system. The doc gets fined or terminated.

Trump needs a legislative victory. Obamacare was used by the GOP as a political issue. It is Obama's signature legislative achievement and legacy. Obama has come out now defending it. The failure of the GOP to reach a consensus on a better healthcare option will destroy them as a party.

Without 60 votes, there is no way Obamacare can be totally repealed. But much of it can be under both the House and Senate GOP plans. Will the perfect become the enemy of the good? Will the GOP self-destruct on the issue allowing Obamacare to grow its roots even deeper? If the GOP cannot deliver on its promises, it doesn't deserve to be the governing party. The Dems stick together no matter what. The Reps form circular firing squads. This will be their last shot at finding an alternative to Obamacare.
