University of Delaware professor slammed for saying North Korea prisoner Otto Warmbier was a 'privileged, rich, clueless white male' who ‘got exactly what he deserved’
People across the country are calling for a part-time professor to be fired after she wrote on Facebook that she thinks Otto Warmbier 'got exactly what he deserved.'
Katherine Dettwyler, who teaches anthropology at the University of Delaware, wrote on her personal Facebook Tuesday, one day after Warmbier's death, that he had the 'typical mindset of a lot of young, rich, clueless males who come into my classes.'
The post, which was deleted just after being captured by the News Journal, accused the deceased University of Virginia student of being a 'young, white, rich, clueless male'.

Well, North Korea really is a ruthless totalitarian dictatorship. They don’t play around there, and your mommy can’t rescue you if you get into trouble. The whole world is not your college dorm.
An American civilian was brutalized in North Korea and died. The Obama Administration did nothing to secure his release unlike what was done for a traitor, Bowe Bergdahl. So all this talk about a college student who did a really stupid thing, if he really did it, is bullshit. An American kid was held prisoner for over a year and finally released to come home to die.
We should be outraged about that! It seems we’re more intent on commenting about his stupidity of being in a foreign country and taking down a damn poster than we are about what was done to him by a foreign government.
What happened to this young man is atrocious. We should be shouting this from the rooftops and keeping this in the news. But no one cares. He’s just a white, privileged kid, right?
I do feel sorry for him, as the punishment he endured was way beyond any “crime” committed. I did not feel sorry for the teen that was caned in Singapore for something very minor (spitting gum on the sidewalk?). The pain was passing and not permanent.

Bullshit. This whole white, middle class/upper class privilege crap is the meme of our minority and political class. I’m so tired of hearing it and I assume many like me are just as tired of hearing it.
Stupid white college kid went to North Korea and died at the hands of the NK government. I no longer care if he thought he was privileged in any way. It doesn’t matter. What matters is he was murdered by the NK government and our media doesn’t care BECAUSE he was a “white kid of privilege” and that says it all.
It is amazing how some on the left accept the North Korean allegation against Warmbier as legitimate. North Korea, as Christopher Hitchens once said, is a slave state. The North Korean government has nothing but contempt for individual civil rights.
The Norks probably decided to kidnap Warmbier either for direct monetary ransom, or for use as a bargaining chip in negotiations with the west. They then forced him to "confess" to a ridiculous crime, and gave him an absurdly harsh sentence. At some point they did something to him that destroyed much of his brain, and ultimately killed him. I don't know what Trump did to encourage his release, but the Norks probably acceeded because they knew he was going to die. Corpses don't make good bargaining chips.
For anyone to actually approve of what was done to Warmbier... I don't have the words. This professor should not just be immediately fired, she should be subject to a restraining order that keeps her away from all young males permanently. Do Delaware residents really want to pay this hatemonger's salary?

I watched that video and it’s blurry to say the least. Regardless, taking down a poster in a hotel room does not excuse him being murdered. He was tortured to the point of death by a foreign government during Obama’s Administration.
Do we just not care because he’s some white, frat kid?

You know I thought this man was very foolish to have gone to NK, I don’t know why anyone in their right mind would go there. But, you could file that under young and foolish which we all have been. But I am shocked, really shocked to find out how the left has been mocking this unfortunate person. I have a lot of rage issues, but they are really filled with hate.
