I am glad he hung in there this long, so Trump can name his replacement.

He should wait until the very last day and say, “No, I’m not stepping down yet... Na na na na na!”

The liberals will have a meltdown if he retires.
The reaction will be more heated than the Gorsuch nomination because replacing Kennedy would tip the balance of the court.
While liberals were outraged about Gorsuch, he replaced Scalia, so all that happened was to replace a conservative with another conservative. But replacing the iffy Kennedy with a conservative will tip the balance away from liberalism.

Anonymous sources are saying Russia is blackmailing Kennedy.
Russia wants a strong America that will stand up to them.

Lets hope that after being beaten and battered by the Democrats (RE: Russian collusion, etc.) that he won't appoint a more liberal justice to appease the Left "to be fair."

My bet is that Kennedy will retire next summer (2018) and that Thomas will retire the summer after that (2019). Neither will want to take the risk that a Democrat will be elected President in 2020 and that they will have to stay another 4 to 8 years.
Ginsburg and Breyer will not leave while Trump is President unless they leave feet first.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg is in her mid 80’s and seems to be showing signs of dementia.
Are they going keep her propped up until she withers away into dust hoping that another democrat is someday elected president?

Maybe RBG will acknowledge that sleeping during sessions is not to the benefit of the Republic and will finally step down. She might try to hold on hoping for another Dem President to come along. But as the President's reelection continues to seem more probable, she must realize that she can't make it 7 more years.

“A Term of the Supreme Court begins, by statute, on the first Monday in October. Usually Court sessions continue until late June or early July.”
He will announce retirement on Monday and retire after the end of THIS session.
President Trump will have the recess time to nominate and get confirmed a new justice before the fall term.
BET ON IT!

You are correct. I don’t see Kennedy lasting 4 more years.

Kennedy, please just go! For a “moderate”, you sure vote with the leftists a lot.
