A Transportation Security Administration employee was arrested Thursday after he was caught on video stealing cash from a bag going through screening at Orlando International Airport, Orlando police say.
Alexander Shae Johnson, 22, who had been with TSA just a few months, was arrested on a charge of third-degree felony grand theft, records show.

Add Miami and Ft Lauderdale airports to the list
Just exercising his privilege.
Don’t steal the government hates the competition. Oh wait he is part of the government. He will likely be promoted then.
Solved this problem myself.
Haven’t been on a plane in over five years and never intend to get on one again.
I won’t be treated like sh!t by anyone, including g’ment employees. I won’t be forced to expose myself to other’s germs and who knows what.
Just takes an extra day or two. Eat my own food. Worry about my own security, drive along at my own schedule and listen to Rush.
Not a bad way to travel.
That's true.
But like honest law students they're weeded out PDQ.
The worst part is, if they steal, and even risk jail for a few bills, it shows their moral aptitude is missing and in their position, can be frightfully compromised.
I can image an instance where an ISIS or Al Qaeda drone offers them $100,000 to put something IN a bag.
Something that ticks.
Boom. Flight disappears.
Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
......I’m guessing the blackground check
machine wassint working DAT da he wuz imploid
Well said. If I can’t drive there in two days, I don’t go.
1st Cav Vietnam vet here, A/229th AHB.
There’s nowhere I really want or need to go that isn’t driving distance. I’m glad of it.
I rarely have had to fly and never cared for it much even in the 80s and early 90s when there wasn’t much to getting on a plane.
Caught a TSA agent at the same airport trying to steal my Rolex.
You can’t keep cash in your pocket when going through the millimeter-wave scanners.
The TSA in Memphis and Jackson, Mississippi, is nothing but an agency to funnel affirmative action employees that can’t work anywhere else into a job that allows them to continue the life they’ve been living.
You would think they were paid well enough by the drug cartels that they wouldn’t need to steal. Perhaps the TSA union needs renegotiate their bribe schemes with the drug runners so the employees can make ends meet.
You might not be too far off.
We recently traveled by air from NJ to Phoenix. My family got pissed at me because I groused about the near useless security measures we endure. I was X-rayed and frisked, and not happy about it. My family said, “oh but this is to keep us safe.” I then proceeded to tell them about the fake bombs and weapons that have gotten through this great system. Did no good, they were still annoyed with me. Lol.
Bears repeating.
How about “evidence” planted.
Same here. We used to fly much more often. These past two years, we flew to Disney in Orlando and to the Bahamas. But everywhere else we go, we drive.
We have even considered getting a Class C RV or something.
The airline industry is now a torture fest for the passengers. TSA is a big reason. Poor customer service (or no service at all), cabins and seats that care little for passenger comfort (unless you want shell out 3 times or more for the regular fare), crowds, long lines, etc.
Trust me. I understand aviation. I understand factors such as weather, ATC congestion, maintenance problems, etc. All of those are mitigating factors, and can be dealt with. But the factors that are abusing paying customers are self-inflicted and imposed (both by profit seeking and by government intrusion).
I know! It is terrible the way we treat our poor sociopaths. He really needed that money to pay for the sound system for his new band. How is he supposed to go to college now? Poor Auntie. I know just how she feels. “Finally, he got a good job and then some white b**ch snitched on him and got him fired and sent to jail. I mortgaged my home to get him out. Poor baby.”
I can understand how you feel the way you do. So can many of us.
