I don’t have any purpose in posting this other than I found it fascinating - and I thought others might too and maybe someone smarter than me might shed some light on it.
If he’s acting he’s a damn good actor. Other confessions of prisoners that I’ve seen have not had this level of spontaneity - he wasn’t reading a prepared note and his voice was not a flat unemotional monotone - seemed pretty natural.
That’s not to say that the whole thing wasn’t concocted by the Norks, but given their supposed backwardness and lack of sophistication, that seems unlikely.
He was stupid enough to go to a place like that, and to behave as if he was home where such stupidity goes almost unnoticed. Who else are we gonna blame? Kind of like coming out as a homosexual in Saudi Arabia, he should have known that it would not end well.
