Maybe the Russkies copied the techniques used by the Obama administration when Obama tried to deny Netanyahu re-election in Israel.
What is this all about? Here’s my take ...
The claimed Russian interference is being carefully linked to the concept of fake news about Hillary Clinton.
Logic tells us there are four possible scenarios.
(1) There was, as claimed by Democrats, Russian interference and use of fake news stories about Hillary Clinton.
(2) There was Russian interference and use of true news stories about Hillary Clinton.
(3) There was no Russian interference but some other actors spread fake news stories about Hillary Clinton.
(4) There was no Russian interference but news stories about Hillary Clinton were in fact true.
And of course there are subsets of the above, in which you have some Russian interference and some false, some true stories about Hillary Clinton.
Just saying that Russian interference somehow proves that fake news was being spread is not a given.
If there is an investigation, fine, but there should be equal weight given to a parallel investigation of whether various allegations about the Clintons are true or false.
One final thought, maybe Putin just didn’t want to live in a Hillary Clinton world. Who would?
