The reason Trump gets to fill so many seats is partly because Obama was slow to fill court vacancies early in his tenure.

And for most of their woes, the liberal have only themselves to blame. For the first two years of his regime, 0bama had a supermajority in the Senate. It was a rubber-stamp for his nominations. He could have packed the judiciary and there was not one thing the GOP could have done to stop it.

The "blue slip" rule goes back to the very first Congress. Just because it's old doesn't mean its good. It's a Federal Judiciary, not a state court.
