Three reasons Karen Budd-Falen is unfit to lead the Bureau of Land Management

Rumors are swirling that President Trump will nominate Wyoming lawyer Karen Budd-Falen to direct the Bureau of Land Management.

Budd-Falen is uniquely unqualified to oversee the BLM, a department charged with managing 258 million acres of America’s public lands — and nearly 700 million acres of oil, gas, and other minerals — on behalf of the American public. She has spent her career fighting against the very existence of U.S. public lands, filing frivolous lawsuits against the BLM, working to subvert public land managers, supporting unpopular efforts to dispose of public lands, and even aligning herself with fringe extremists.

Here are three important reasons Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke and the Trump administration should look elsewhere rather than nominate Budd-Falen to run one of America’s most important agencies.

"With a career dedicated to undermining public lands and public servants, Budd-Falen is uniquely unqualified for the director’s post"

Sounds like the perfect person as far as I'm concerned!

Yep. Give her the job; sell off federal land, reduce the federal debt and return the land to the states or private control. Why should the feds own and control 80 percent of Nevada?

sounds like she's indubitably qualified to me.

MAGA!

BLM? Black Lives Matter? OH! Bureau of Land Mgmt. My bad. Sometimes it’s tough to tell one group of thugs from another.

They’re reportedly no longer back-engineering flying saucers on our land, so it’s time to give Nevada to Nevadans! :)

I can’t seem to find anything in my copy of the Constitution, other than the District of Columbia, regarding ‘federal land’. Am I missing something?

It is moments like this that make me glad that I was a Trump supporter from day one.

So called “public servants” (irony alert!) are largely swine.

Federal lands need to be absorbed by the States... obviously.

Yep, you can tell a lot about a person - by the looking at the folks who don’t like them.

I am the farthest thing from a BLM fan. What they have done to wild horses is horrific and a violation of stewardship. And the stances they have taken on a myriad of other matters, like land grabs, also stinks. That’s one agency we could do without.

She has fought for reasonable use of Federal lands and fought government abuse of public lands holders. She is perfect for the job.

Don’t know anything about the woman but the BLM has definitely exceeded its authority in a number of cases/situations to the point of lawlessness and illegal intimidation.

A good leader is needed to separate out the crappy laws from the good ones. If Falen is qualified, so be it.
