Sen. Richard J. Durbin said Wednesday Chicago’s sanctuary city policy isn’t about protecting illegal immigrants, but rather is a matter of poverty — the city doesn’t have enough money to turn illegal immigrants over to federal authorities.
“Come on Uncle Sam, where’s the money?” Mr. Durbin, Illinois Democrat, said in a hearing called to look at gangs’ prevalence among illegal immigrants.

What Durbin said makes absolutely NO sense. How much does it cost cities to let the Feds haul the illegal garbage away? I can’t think of a penny. On the contrary, it would SAVE the cities millions of dollars which could then be used for legitimate purposes-—like taking care of the taxpayers who paid the money.

Perfect! And it fits with “Mexican Police Culture,” where you get a badge and free bullets and are told to go out and earn yourself a living. It would be “just like home” to illegals.
You'd have raids across state lines, one state raiding another state's illegals.
This could be a good "self deportation" incentive.
So it costs more to turn in the illegals than to hide, educate, house, feed,incarcerate and Amedicate them? No wonder Illinois’s finances are a disaster.
Is there a poor and broke sanctuary city, or proposed sanctuary state for that fact, that is not being governed by democrats?

They’re saying that San Francisco is too broke to make a phone call to ICE... Can you imagine if you told the IRS that you failed to mail in your tax return because you couldn’t afford the stamp?
