Ballistic missiles can be guided as well in modern terminology. :P ICBMs are ballistic missiles with guidance and have been for decades.
Look at my post above for why it’s concerning. They’re planning on dismounting the system from the truck and encasing it in a shipping container, which is similar to what the Russians are already doing. However, shipboard launch of such missiles has been a problem in the past - the motion of the ship upsets the gyros in the missile.
Two solutions. Use software to deal with the rolling movement of the ship.
OR... have the software disregard the gyros until just after the missile leaves the launch tube.
