but they are not required to any more...
When I became an American citizen in 1975 we had to prove we could speak, read and write in English..
I had an oral test of 20 questions on American history and civics and I had to know the answer, without multiple choice...and without studying the test beforehand...
To my shame, I got one wrong...
There is little seriousness to the requirements for American citizenship these days...
1. Be born here and stay ignorant of the honor of living in America
2. Be nationalize and stay ignorant of the honor of living in America
