Republican Karen Handel Defeats Democrat Jon Ossoff in Georgia Special Election

SANDY SPRINGS, Georgia — Republican Karen Handel has won the special congressional election in Georgia, fending off a strong challenge from Democrat Jon Ossoff in the heavily Republican House district, according to a projection by NBC News.

Handel’s victory in the closely fought contest, which drew national interest and was the most expensive House race ever at over $40 million, comes as good news for President Donald Trump. Democrats had promoted the contest as a referendum on the president.

Rarely, if ever, has a single congressional race attracted this much attention or been freighted with so much meaning.

It’s pretty amazing; Trump is apparently one of those guys who thrives on adversity. And, in line with that, when during the campaign I would remark to people, “you think you could put up a 50 story building in NYC?” and they would pooh-pooh the idea, like it wasn’t any kind of big deal.

I will say, the 2 things that worry me about Trump is 1: the low rate of position-filling he is doing, including the slow rate of hosing out of all the Dem holdovers; and 2: his variability. I can’t do squat about either one so I don’t spend much energy on the exercise.

While I’m glad this serves as something positive for the President, I can’t get too excited about any Republican these days. The R vs D in DC has become a silly game with all of them ending up anticonstitutional more often than not, interested only in personal gain, leaving the American people bereft.

Saw some MAGA hats at the victory party and the biggest cheer for Handle was when she thanked Pres. Trump for his help. None of the analysts commented on that because they don’t want these results to mean that Republicans are sticking with Pres. Trump.

This is good news but we must remember the party who supposedly represents right thinking conservative values, the GOPe, is really not much better than the dem party today if at all.

I couldn’t be more disgusted with the likes of Chaffetz, McCain, Graham, et al. You all know who I’m talking about so while we can savor this win; it’s not much more than a Pyhrric victory as long we have RINO’s holding seats on the “R” side.

$40 million in GA to attempt to kick the POTUS’ ass..

$20-$30 million in MI, PA, CO, and WI fighting the election results.

$100-million from Sore_ass to fund the #Resistance / Antifi.

Gets better & better...

“I will say, the 2 things that worry me about Trump is...”

All of his supporters have concerns like that, it’s media brainwashing taking its toll.

Time and time again, Trump comes thru like a champ. He’s smarter than everyone up there and THEY know it.

Sit back, relax, enjoy the show.

He could really improve taking his message directly to the nation, too. He should pitch liberty and freedom, why capitalism wipes out poverty, the importance of growth. Cast an upbeat message and educate the masses of dolts ruined by the communist school system.
