My understanding that thousands of Federal employees owe a lot of money in unpaid taxes. Would hope that if any of these individuals owe anything it is deducted from their final check.
It happened all the time in the feral gubment once upon a time. It ended with baseline budgeting and unions. A gubment job was still ok then but not all people were career but only seasonal instead. Farmers, ranchers and teachers even college professors liked it.

50 years later, I still don’t have that check but they are out of business!

In Maine the unemployment office is laying of workers because of the dearth of unemployed workers.

Our government and many of those who “work” for it have nothing but contempt for us. I’ve hiked near a superfund cleanup site along the NJ/NY border, and I kid you not there were three trucks with workers napping in them. The EPA is a waste of money in its current form.
