I saw all sorts of predictions for SC05 including a 10 point win for the Republican. In 2016 Mulvaney (R) won 59% to 39%.

There may be some cause for concern, then, given that the margin of victory was narrower.

But if there is cause for concern, it's not because the dems are an alternative. It's because the stupid RINOs can't get their butts in gear and do some of what they were elected to do.

On the other hand, if this is the best the dems can do while their base is fired up to the max, that makes it not look so good for them.

The difference is that everyone knows Mulvaney and a lot of the development in Chester and Indian Land is due to him. Chester has at least 2-3 new factories including the huge Carolina Poly and the Giti tire plant. Indian Land has gone from a a place full of fields in 2010 when Mulvaney beat Spratt to a place full of industry, residential areas, and money. Hard shoes for Norman to fill because Mulvaney has helped create so many jobs.
