Two men shot to death in separate West Side incidents early Monday were part of a deadly weekend in Chicago that saw eight people killed and 49 others wounded in gun violence between Friday evening and Monday morning.
More than 240 people have been shot so far this month. And more than 1,600 have been shot this year, according to Chicago Sun-Times data. Of those victims, 279 have died. Last year, more than 700 people were shot to death in the city.
With 57 people shot, this weekend’s carnage outpaced the same weekend last year. From June 17, 2016, to June 20, 2016, at least 56 people were shot, 13 of them fatally.

The slowing rate reflects the lowering population. They need more Syrian refugees to fill the empty housing.

I used to deliver meals on wheels and some of the neighborhoods were tough.
I delivered to one old lady and her grand daughter used to answer some times. She was maybe 25.
Raped at 6 by stepfather. Mother threw HER out of the house at 17 and kept the stepfather. Raped at 18. Had the baby. Stabbed straight through the hand by a boyfriend. One guy broke her arm. The guy who raped her told her he’d skin her alive one day.
We’re not dealing with rational human beings.
Were any of the shooters or victims white people?
Were any of the shooters or victims from any place other than Chicago?
Could it be that the black people in Chicago, the 6 decade long democrat leadership, and the democrat attitude of gun confiscation in Chicago have a major disconnect from the reality of the numeric facts of their stupidity.
America does not have a gun problem, black democrats in America have a gun problem. The very real and true FBI statistics clearly support this fact.
The Sun-Times should start using the terms “gun battles” instead of “gun violence” and “casualties” instead of “victims.” Maybe they could do Monday stats of Killed, Wounded, Missing, and Prisoner (for the Cook County arrest blotter).
