Wow, that's a family pedigree. I've been in Alabama about twenty ears now. Been an NWS Skywarn storm spotter about twenty-five. Took college courses in meteorology, oceanography, and whatnot because I've been fascinated by weather since I was a little kid growing up in the mountains. My computers and phone are loaded with weather apps and links, as well.

Dad told me before NOAA the state of flat Had weather stations every 30 miles on the coast from Jacksonville to key West, then up the west coast to port st. Joe. They would take barometric readings every half hour and call it into Miami. The lowest reading was where the cane would hit. Pretty primitive but accurate

Oh, we only have 2 seasons here. Hot and really hot! You grew up in the mountains? Which state?
