I thought I’d come on the thread to ask for your expert opinions regarding coffee makers.
Am thinking of starting to drink a couple of cups in the morning, but don’t want to make a whole 12 cup carafe.
I’ve tried the one cup “steep in place” thingies that sit on top of one’s mug, where you pour hot water through the coffee grains and let them soak in the hot water for a few min, but I didn’t really like the way that tasted.
Can anyone recommend a brand of small (like 2-4 cup) mini coffee maker that you would categorize as the BEST quality? I’ve read reviews of some online and I just think to myself, what do I know?!
I’m open to anyone’s suggestions...thanks, Trump Family.
Well, there’s one type that makes a cup at a time of either pre-packaged brew packets, or a small basket in which you can put your own coffee.
It has a large water reservoir on the side and allows you to select the brew quantity for either small or large coffee mugs.
It has instant hot water, and can also be used to make tea or package soups.

Thanks, Rock. I think that would be convenient. I would like to grind my own coffee beans fresh each morning and put them in a little coffee maker. I’ve actually been dumping the ground beans into water and boiling it on the stove, and then draining/filtering out the grains, but it didn’t really taste all that great that way. I’m hoping I can find a good quality 2-4 or 5 cup one....
I only drink a cup in the morning and maybe one after dinner. Bear in mind, I use a mug, so the output of the coffeemaker is actually about two full mugs, may be little more. Since I don't fill the whole mug, I have enough for another cup the next morning. Excess coffee stores well overnight in an attractive white vacuum carafe that I have.
I use a wonderful coffee called "Cafe Blend" that a well-known New Orleans coffee company sends me....four packages at a time .
Two well-rounded scoops per one pot of water. Aromatic, delicious. I use bottled Spring water, not tap water.
Mr. Coffee DR4-NP coffeemaker, 4 cups, White...should be $20 or less plus shipping.
Not one of those "programable" fancy Mr. Coffee pots....just plain ole simple pot like mom used.
I bought mine from Sears when we had a Sears. You may want to phone your Sears to see if they have them...or go there and take a look. They're also available on the internet from Mr. Coffee.

Tonight our President told American's ALL that he has done since in office. Nothing that has been reported. And the tweets are reported on Maggie's(NYT) page along with other reporters that the White House is trying hard to stop the President from tweeting. Which we know is an all out lie. Its actually becoming quite funny reading their spin every day.
Yeah, it’s real convenient, the water is already hot, it takes about a minute for a cup....and it’s always a fresh cup.
Thanks, Leni, for writing your routine in such good detail! I have seen this mini Mr Coffee maker advertised on Walmart online, and was reading the reviews that customers wrote. Some did say what you said, about how their older machines were made so well. Evidently from their reviews, they seemed to think the newer made ones don’t measure up to the same quality. I may go ahead and buy one and find out, though. Re; coffee. I will have to remember that one. Someone on FR wrote (a while back) that the best coffee ever was some brand called Kickass Coffee. I thought that sounded like a funny name, and bought a bag of their beans. I drink so little it will probably last me years, LOL.

Some folks use cheesy coffee, or don't keep the machine clean enough, or they just like to complain. I thoroughly clean the few pieces after each use.
When I have company, I make a couple pots and store the coffee in my insulated, lovely white carafe....with another pot ready to be plugged in if necessary. I have to make the coffee a little more frequently, but I never have to throw any away, either...like I used to have to do when I had a large machine.
I don't care for flavored coffee, my New Orleans coffee is just a darn good everyday coffee with a great flavor. Look up "Community Coffee" on your computer...I get 4 bags of "Cafe Blend", you receive it in a nice carton at your house within a few days. I've had an account with them for years.
Somebody told me that some supermarkets carry some Community Coffee varieties....you might check. I like to get mine straight and fresh from New Orleans. The price is right.
