The New York Times ^ | JUNE 16, 2017 | MICHAEL D. SHEAR

WASHINGTON — President Trump has officially reversed his campaign pledge to deport the so-called Dreamers, undocumented immigrants who came to the United States as small children.

The Department of Homeland Security announced late Thursday night that it would continue the Obama-era program intended to protect those immigrants from deportation and provide them work permits so they can find legal employment.

A fact sheet posted on the department’s website says immigrants enrolled in the 2012 program, known as Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, “will continue to be eligible” to renew every two years and notes that “no work permits will be terminated prior to their current expiration dates.”...

The term “Anchor babies” conjures cuteness and harmlessness but pimple faced tattooed hairy anchor teens/adults well, not so much. So we have anchor adults refereed to affectionately as anchor babies.

***WARNING***

NYT = Not Yielding to Truth

Don’t believe these Lying Leftist Media outlets that proved themselves during the 2016 campaign to be operatives of the DNC and intentional liars. They are presumed to be lying and we should presume what they publish is a lie. The presumption can only be rebutted with the outlet providing clear and convincing evidence they are not lying.

Where's a reasonably reliable source that talks about this. In the meantime DON'T believe it because the NYT's are basically liars.

They are young adults, supposedly going to college or working.

Administration revokes blocked program to protect immigrant parents (Team Trump kills D.A.P.A.)

The Trump administration is formally revoking an Obama-era program intended to protect immigrant parents of U.S. citizens and legal residents from deportation. The Deferred Action for Parents of Americans program was announced by the Obama administration in 2014 but was blocked by a federal judge in Texas after 26 states challenged the program’s legality in federal court. Kelly formally revoked the policy memo that created the program, which mirrored an earlier effort to protect young immigrants in the country illegally from deportation on June 15.

Homeland Security John Kelly formally revoked a policy memo that created the Deferred Action for Parents of Americans program. The revocation came on the fifth anniversary of another effort that has protected hundreds of thousands of young immigrants from deportation.

The program to protect parents was announced by President Barack Obama in November 2014 but was never fully launched. It was intended to keep the immigrant parents safe from deportation and provide them with a renewable work permit good for two years, but it was blocked by a federal judge in Texas after 26 states filed suit against the federal government and challenged the effort’s legality. Republicans decried the effort at “backdoor amnesty” and argued that Obama overstepped his authority by protecting a specific class of immigrants living in the United States illegally.

Impossible. The courts have ruled his campaign statements are legal precedence (ala the travel ban).

What would be the rationale for even wanting children to stay here?

I think it's beyond that. If they're young adults, then they are capable of working and buying sh!t, too.

This became obvious here in New Jersey last year. A lot of conservatives were outraged when the Christie administration decided that illegal aliens who came here as children would be eligible for in-state tuition rates at state colleges and universities. But then the illegal aliens and their liberal supporters were outraged when the same Christie administration decided that these illegal aliens would not be eligible for state financial aid.

That's when the whole farce became clear. These illegal aliens are needed as customers to keep businesses and institutions open that would otherwise go out of business.

“I don’t have a problem with letting some of those stay. They need to become citizens like all other immigrants when they are able/old enough. These cases are exceptions.”

So we’re just telling the world that we don’t have the backbone to say NO. We don’t need more ‘citizens’ that we will have to support and will be loyal to another country. Weak, weak, weak. A nation of church ladies. Suicidal altruism.

New apps are dwindling down to less than 160 avg daily. That's less than half previous qtr and 4.5 times fewer than the overall average.

Oh yeah we are really turning the tide on illegal border jumping into the U.S., aren't we! Wow! Look at all those fancy numbers coming out of all of those fancy hats! I call this bullshit. With apologists and fellow-travelers like yourself, who the hell needs real enemies?

I'm okay with the DREAMERS who obeyed the law and signed up when Obama's administration said they had to. President Trump has given them ample time to obey the law. At this point, any of them who haven't already signed up are as criminal as their parents are. There should be a cut off of June 30. Anyone who hasn't signed up by then should be sent home.

What could be simpler and more logical, at this point?

Smart. It’s an inconsequential number of people relative to the broader issue, but they are the literal “poster children” of the open borders crowd, who have kept them hostage to “comprehensive immigration reform”. Allowing them to stay basically pops their balloon. They don’t want this.

No.. he said himself.. dreamers should rest easy.. we are not after dreamers, we are after criminals.... Translation, he wants to Wall them in and put them ahead of your children and grandchildren. Rubio was lambasted of FR, but trump.. well suddenly FR is all about an amnesty deal.
I think focussin on criminals first is great, but Amnesty for dreamers, no.

“Trump Will Allow ‘Dreamers’ to Stay in U.S., Reversing Campaign Promise”!!!!!!!!!!

https://www.dhs.gov/archive/deferred-action-childhood-arrivals

“As the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) continues to focus its enforcement resources on the removal of individuals who pose a danger to national security or a risk to public safety, including individuals convicted of crimes with particular emphasis on violent criminals, felons, and repeat offenders, DHS will exercise prosecutorial discretion as appropriate to ensure that enforcement resources are not expended on low priority cases, such as individuals who came to the United States as children and meet other key guidelines.”

IOW, we’ve got bigger fish to fry for now, but don’t sign any long term leases kiddos ... so, until the next time this breathless `news’ is posted, goodnight Mrs. Lovejoy.

If the children are given amnesty and made legal it gives the left a wedge to give the same to parents. These worms want our country, culture, and its economy exploited, and safety net of citizens robbed by outsiders so they get voters.
