More than 40 million foreign-born immigrants currently reside in the U.S. -- the highest number in the nation's history.Number?
But the PERCENTAGE has surely been much higher before!

The cities will descend into chaos with brutal savagery on short order. Hollywood has shown the youth of this country what is their future in an abundance of dystopian movies.
Kids: it ain't gonna be space aliens or zombies out to get you!

Either the United States will return to a shared single language and allegiance to a common and singular culture, or it will eventually descend into clannish violenceParents do NOT speak the 'same' language as their children!

You have to face reality that this 320 million person empire is not working. Breaking up into regions countries is the only answer. It can be done peacefully without bloodshed. What you naysayers are committing the USA to is anarchy and bloody revolution. Be careful.

I prefer a 9.3 earthquake in San Francisco that would kill a lot of people and remove others from the game.Revelation 16:21 NIV
From the sky huge hailstones, each weighing about a hundred pounds, fell on people. And they cursed God on account of the plague of hail, because the plague was so terrible.

... the country will need to negotiate a regional split. Its too divided to survive as a 50-state entity. And just WHO will have the POWER to FORCE people to move?

“Explain how CA reverts back to Mexico again?”
What is the hispanic population of California today? Have a Calexit with open borders liberals in charge and it would be flooded overnight and would be de facto Mexico.

This is drawn based on the writings of Robert Heinlein in I believe The Cat That Walks Through Walls or Friday. I thought the eastern section was divided north and south but perhaps not. I also thought that the west coast was divided in much the same manner of current red and blue zones.
I may be confusing Heinlein with the Postman that had a similar theme
However, the reality is not really regional because the progressive enemy is located in the cities. That is, there are presently de facto city states isolated within less urban majority of the territory. The last election teaches that the population concentrated within the city states exceeds all the rest

I have to disagree with you. A pure democracy is majority rule. The US is not majority rule, but is a constitutional republic. Yes, there are elements of democracy in the constitutional republic, but the US, taken as a whole, is not a democracy. If it were, Hillary Clinton would be president today.

The breakup of the USSR is a prime example.
Despite the best efforts of the federal government to "educate" the truth about states rights out of the population's group psyche since 1865, we are structurally still a republic so it would be good to remember that and what that actually means. There are a lot of layers of government going on here. Governors don't abdicate in the face of FedGov collapsing. A collapsed FedGov should be vied as a good thing so we can go back to republican fundamentals.
