With the republican controlled legislative branch being as ineffective as we all thought it would be, there is a significant chance they will lose control of the House next election (actually they’ve lost effective control of the senate now and the House can’t get anything done).
If that happens, Trump will be impeached by the House and have to face a trial in the Senate where surely he can find 34 votes from republicans to stay in office (of course republicans never miss an opportunity to bend over for dems so who knows, Trump my be convicted too).
If a president is convicted in the senate is there a penalty other than removal from office?
I believe if the Republicans control the house by a few seats, he will be impeached. This means no one should be primaried. It will be weaken the candidate.
