Special counsel is investigating Trump for possible obstruction of justice, officials say

The special counsel overseeing the investigation into Russia’s role in the 2016 election is interviewing senior intelligence officials as part of a widening probe that now includes an examination of whether President Trump attempted to obstruct justice, officials said.

The move by Special Counsel Robert S. Mueller III to investigate Trump’s own conduct marks a major turning point in the nearly year-old FBI investigation, which until recently focused on Russian meddling during the presidential campaign and on whether there was any coordination between the Trump campaign and the Kremlin. Investigators have also been looking for any evidence of possible financial crimes among Trump associates, officials said.

Let's investigate Mueller. Why should the investigators get a free pass? Let's find out about his allies, his agenda, his history, his enemies. Why should this man who was never elected to anything have power over a president who won 2600 counties in this country?

Do we have a country or don’t we? Are we just slaves to a global Cabal, or is the constitution still valid?

The media and all leftists and Democrats have told the American people our President should basically be taken out and shot and they have no reason whatsoever other than pure lies.

If they win, we’ve got nothing here on this continent but memories.

The Democrats working hand in hand with the Republicans are pulling a Coup, our votes mean nothing to them, we have no true representation. The Globalist control our Government, cheap labor whores piss on our votes. The idea we can replace them in 2018 is a fairy tale, they own the Government. We really have only one option avalable. After they remove Trump maybe people will wake up.

Greg Jarrett: "Special Counsel regs specifically forbid a conflict like this; if Mueller had any ethics at all he would recuse; lawyers get de-barred for violating rules like this."

Trump should get Sessions, Jarrett, Sekulow and several trusted staffers to be witnesses and call Mueller in and confront him with:

" Gregg Jarrett: Are Mueller and Comey ‘colluding’ against Trump by acting as co-special counsel? From Gregg Jarrett: Are Mueller and Comey ‘colluding’ against Trump by acting as co-special counsel?

From the article: "Mueller ‘won’t be surprised’ by Comey’s testimony: report Mueller's team has been in contact with Comey before his Senate testimony this Thursday. Mueller's team has been in contact with Comey ahead of his public remarks this Thursday, Politico reported Tuesday. The former FBI Director is expected to stick to past conversations with President Trump."

"After all, Robert Mueller and James Comey appear to be acting in concert as co-special counsel. Why not make it official with a formal notice of their union?"

"It was obvious it would evolve this way from the very moment Mueller was named on May 17th. Senate Intel chiefs meeting with Mueller next week: Burr said they are also setting up closed-door sessions with Mike Rogers and Dan Coats. A spokeswoman for the top Democrat on the committee confirmed that both Warner and Sen. Richard Burr (R-N.C.), the chairman of the committee, are meeting with Mueller next week. A spokeswoman for Burr didn't immediately respond to request for comment."

"Which is why I wrote a column two days later, arguing that Mueller should resign as special counsel. He has a flagrant conflict of interest that disqualifies him from serving. To wit, his personal and professional closeness to Comey. They have long been allies. Comey regards his predecessor at the FBI as a mentor, while Mueller considers Comey his protégé."

"It was evident at the outset that the fired FBI Director would be the pivotal witness in any potential obstruction of justice investigation by Mueller. Therefore, it was incomprehensible that Rod Rosenstein, the Acting Attorney General, would choose him. It was equally baffling that Mueller would accept the position."

"Conflict of Interest Defined: The law governing the special counsel (28 CFR 600.7) specifically prohibits Mueller from serving if he has a “conflict of interest.” Even the appearance of a conflict is disallowed."

"The same Code of Federal Regulations defines what constitutes a conflict. That is, “a personal relationship with any person substantially involved in the conduct that is the subject of the investigation or prosecution” (28 CFR 45.2). Comey is that person. He was substantially involved in the conversation with President Trump which may be the subject of an obstruction investigation. In fact, the former Director is the only other person involved. There were no witnesses beyond himself."

"A conflict of interest is a situation in which an individual has competing interests or loyalties. Here, it sets up a clash between the special counsel’s self-interest or bias and his professional or public interest in discharging his responsibilities in a fair, objective and impartial manner. His close association with the star witness raises the likelihood of prejudice or favoritism which is anathema to the fair administration of justice."

28 CFR 600.7 - Conduct and Accountability.

28 CFR 45.2 - Disqualification Arising from Personal or Political Relationship.

So, Trump has his folks in the Oval Office, Mueller walks in, Sekulow reads the laws to Mueller and Mueller is given the chance to resign. If he doesn't, Trump has no choice but to fire him.

The “obstruction” investigation is almost certainly a scary sounding reference to the Comey firing, and whether Trump did this to obstruct the Russia investigation. It’s another nothing smorgasbord.

What I want to know is if Mueller is investigating Russian interference in the 2016 election, is he investigating Hillary too?

I'm thinking that Comey was wearing a wire in that brief talk with the President after the others in the discussions were dismissed.

I don't even want to think about thinking about it.

Great post. Please ping your list to what I’m about to relay.

G Webb (Whenifhow, pls provide the YouTube link as I am on a Phone) reports that a conspiracy amongst these players has been intercepted, hence RICO statutes are invoked rendering any immunity agreements null and void.

Trump obstructed justice and he is removed from office and the election would be declared null and void.

That's not how it works.

this is more than a "witch hunt"

this is SEDITION :

These continual unfounded trapping expeditions WITH ABSOLUTELY NO EVIDENCE to support them , amount to nothing more than an attempt to overthrow a duly and legally elected President. Although not by violence, the motive is clear, a special prosecutor should be appointed to investigate this. and at the same time Hillary should face a special counsel as well for her collusion with the russians by failure to secure her e-mails which is the true cause of this witch hunt

[QUOTE}Sedition

A revolt or an incitement to revolt against established authority, usually in the form of Treason or Defamation against government.

Sedition is the crime of revolting or inciting revolt against government. However, because of the broad protection of free speech under the First Amendment, prosecutions for sedition are rare. Nevertheless, sedition remains a crime in the United States under 18 U.S.C.A. § 2384 (2000), a federal statute that punishes seditious conspiracy, and 18 U.S.C.A. § 2385 (2000), which outlaws advocating the overthrow of the federal government by force. Generally, a person may be punished for sedition only when he or she makes statements that create a Clear and Present Danger to rights that the government may lawfully protect (schenck v. united states, 249 U.S. 47, 39 S. Ct. 247, 63 L. Ed. 470 [1919]).

The crime of seditious conspiracy is committed when two or more persons in any state or U.S. territory conspire to levy war against the U.S. government. A person commits the crime of advocating the violent overthrow of the federal government when she willfully advocates or teaches the overthrow of the government by force, publishes material that advocates the overthrow of the government by force, or organizes persons to overthrow the government by force. A person found guilty of seditious conspiracy or advocating the overthrow of the government may be fined and sentenced to up to 20 years in prison. States also maintain laws that punish similar advocacy and conspiracy against the state government.

Governments have made sedition illegal since time immemorial. The precise acts that constitute sedition have varied. In the United States, Congress in the late eighteenth century believed that government should be protected from "false, scandalous and malicious" criticisms. Toward this end, Congress passed the Sedition Act of 1798, which authorized the criminal prosecution of persons who wrote or spoke falsehoods about the government, Congress, the president, or the vice president. The act was to expire with the term of President John Adams[/QUOTE}

Wow, that's good news. Between that and:

28 CFR 600.7 - Conduct and Accountability. and

28 CFR 45.2 - Disqualification Arising from Personal or Political Relationship.

Mueller should be toast.

Fight On President Trump!

We got your six!

Mueller and some other KNOW that these accusations are false. It is nothing more than a Trapline hunt. After 9 months of setting traps with ABSOLTELY NO EVIDENCE, it is crystal clear that this is an attempt to overthrow the elected government,

They should be jailed for sedition.

this needs to be stopped before it becomes standard practice

You know its a witch hunt when “Special Counsel Robert S. Mueller” hires only Democrat lawyers who worked for Clinton and investigates a crime of the President is technically incapable of commuting.

Obstruction of Justice crime is impossible for President of the United States because under the law the President can end any FBI investigation he wants for whatever reason he wants. Not that Trump made any effort to do so.

Yet supposedly impartial Robert Muller wants to spend large numbers of Tax payer dollar, hireling highly pardon democrats to investigate a crime that is technically impossible.

Washington Post Editors Skeptical of Own Paper’s Story on Mueller Obstruction Investigation of Trump; Say It Was “Rushed and Hushed”
http://truepundit.com/washington-post-editors-skeptical-of-own-papers-story-on-mueller-obstruction-investigation-of-trump-say-it-was-rushed-and-hushed/

I thought this as soon as I heard the news. They ran this story because they heard President Trump was thinking about firing Mueller. This would send everybody into another “obstruction of justice” melt down if President Trump pulled the trigger.
