Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) was in the cage waiting for one more turn at the plate when shots rand down on the field, hitting Rep. Steve Scalise (R-La.) and at least four other people.
Paul told MSNBC's "Morning Joe" that he probably heard 50 to 60 shots and saw Scalise "trying to drag himself through the dirt out into the outfield."
Paul described a frightening scene at the baseball field in Alexandria, Va., with shots landing near aides who had taken cover on the field. One staffer, he said, scrambled over a fence to get away from the fire. Paul, who couldn't see the gunman from his position, said he believed the shooter reloaded, and he described the gun as sounding like an AR-15.

Had it been DemocRATS receiving fire, the MSM would have gone wall-to-wall with the story and would have already tried and convicted Trump and the Republican “leadership.”

Even as the story is, this will certainly turn into a gun control crisis, and the dems will say that 0bama tried to put in more gun legislation, but was stifled by the GOP. The MSM will hop on the bandwagon, putting all blame on the GOP, for whatever list of reasons.
I think Dr. Paul was in the practice cage on the adjacent field, beyond the centerfield fence. That is why he was not among those attending to Scalise.

We were inside the backstop and if we didn’t have that cover by a brave person who stood up and took a shot themselves, we would not have gotten out of there and every one of us would have been hit — every single one of us,” said Bishop. “He was coming around the fence line and he was looking for all of us who had found cover in different spots. But if we didn’t have return fire right there, he would have come up to each one of us and shot us point-blank.”

Obviously a progressive. 100 shots and only 4 injured, thank god. If it was someone from our side with a psychotic break, it would have been 4 shots, 4 dead.
How did he know where the Republicans were practicing? Things like this are planned. They don’t just happen.
Look for the Democrat propaganda machine to kick into high gear today, and try to spin this as a “Gun Safety” issue (that’s the more benign term they are using these days in place of “Gun Control” - same agenda, new name.) Also, look for the name Gabby Giffords to be repeatedly invoked in an effort to divert attention away from the fact that the shooter was deliberately targeting Republicans.
