The believe the number could be as high as 500, no-one appears to really know.
Whoever authorised that cladding will be picking the stitches out of their office chair for weeks to come. Oxford CC has carried out a check on the cladding they are currently fitting to the city’s tower blocks. All okay...apparently.

The Mayor is indeed saddened....
He has promised a comprehensive investigation. The GOV will be leading the investigation, Nothing to do with him, yet more hot air.

How do you clean an LCD after S*t*n’s workers have appeared on the screen?

The local community has rallied round magnificently with clothing ,food and shelter. No doubt the national response to this will start soon.

German fridge - good.

500 is a lot of people. I am noting confusion in the reports - some say fire started on lower floor - like the 4th - and spread up and others report fire started high - like 24th floor - and spread down. I’m thinking the former makes more sense.

And on a totally only marginally related note, bringing propane absorption refrigerators to mind (even though that is not what your explosive ‘fridges are) has caused me to investigate whether we want to add such a device to our collection of ‘camping’ things - we added a propane water heater and demand water pump for our shower maybe three or four years ago. It has been a wise investment. The problem with adding a propane fridge is that you can buy a lot of bags of ice for the asking price of one if them.. ;-) And it might only get used for one week a year..
