You’re right in your assessment. This will drag on for years as Mueller eventually snares many in traps. That’s his job, to find people to prosecute and not to clear anyone. With enough time and enough angles to question anyone can be facing a perjury trap.
On the other hand, Trump can fire Mueller and avoid all that.
Sessions has not told them one time, that this is a pony show and they know there is nothing to the russia story.. never was and is not now. He was in congress and it shows.. chicken .. he had a good chance and nothing!
Trump is going to have to do this himself... fire Mueller, fire Sessions and drain that swamp!! Take charge.. be decisive and call this what it is... then get on with making America great again! We are still with Trump... but get on it and don’t delay any more.. what is going on in the news is the only thing that the population think Trump is doing. Put it to rest by closing it out... tell the people this has all been a lie ... congress has known it and so has the media... lay it out and fire the ones that are not with Trump..
