Would someone please explain to me the reason why Tide-brand laundry soap is something valuable to steal and sell or trade for drugs?

The druggies I’ve known never wash themselves, let alone their clothes!

What up wid dat?

Apparently someone calculated that a 150 oz bottle of Tide is an equivalent trade for one hit of Crack and as it is a commodity it is not a traceable cash deal. Since Tide is the #1 brand detergent in the US dealers take the Tide for drugs and then sell the Tide for Cash.
