President Donald Trump and his daughter Ivanka Trump are set to travel to Wisconsin Tuesday to join Gov. Scott Walker to tour a technical college, as the administration puts a renewed focus on its goal of job creation.
The trip is just one event in a week full of activities built around promoting technical skills training and apprenticeships.
Dubbing it workforce development week, first daughter and presidential adviser Ivanka Trump is taking a leading role in the administrations initiative.
We're very excited about where we are, she said. Well be launching a series of initiatives, call on Congress to pass various reforms expanding apprenticeships, and raise awareness about the fact that there are important and very viable and respectable career paths outside of a tradition four-year college experience that should be considered and should be invested in.
Among the other events of the week, the president is expected to make what the administration is billing as a major policy speech at the Department of Labor on Wednesday, in which hell lay out steps the administration will take to encourage workforce development and also call for Congressional action. Ivanka Trump will also lead a roundtable with some 15 CEOs......

OMG NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...
He’ll be a Leftist when he gets back to Washington!!!!!

Being in an essential manufacturing trade myself, I’m really happy to read this.
It has to be said also that manufacturing jobs have gone to hell in both wages and availability in this country thanks to trade deals and illegals (mostly from mexico).
I pray often that somehow it gets back to what it was 20 years ago.
MAGA!!!
Ivanka Ping :)
Landslide 2020
I wish he would take Mike Rowe along on these kinds of trips.
The big university/meritocracy/degree mill racket will shit eggrolls over this attempt at busting up their “education” cartels.
Due to the HR/meritocracy/outsourcing campaigns going on,since the early 1990’s, a technical job that just required equivalent experience, or if you displayed an acceptable aptitude, now require a bachelor’s degree, even if said degree isn’t even close to related to the job that you’re applying for.
Under today’s standards, I don’t even qualify for the job that I have now, even though I have close to 30 years of experience and an almost continuous education in the same field.
Mike Rowe is the first thing that came to my mind when reading this article. Perhaps they will make him part of this endeavor.
Regardless, this is awesome. Totally awesome.
Bonus:
Less people going through schools of higher indoctrination.
That is a definite bonus!
It’s also the reason why the meritocracy/university cabal has been fighting tooth and nail to eliminate “technical” schools and trade union apprenticeship programs, and the use of student loans for trade schools.
This is what buried ITT tech, and screwed over their students.
The tech schools set up in Wisconsin a number of years ago, and by now a firmly established institution, are in some ways already infiltrated by the same kind of liberal intellectual rot, as some of the tech school administrations try to include non-technical courses to “properly” indoctrinate those going for an Associate in Arts degree, a sort of badge of a junior college.
As far as trades training itself, that is actually going pretty well, as what years ago may have been “on-the-job” training, is now condensed into an intensive study of the basic mechanics of executing the industrial skills needed in the market place, with some relevance to what is in demand and pays a highly competitive wage scale.
I am VERY excited about this! We need to take the cement reigns back from the commies that have taken over ALL of our colleges and universities and schooling all along the line!
A lot of curricula in colleges could be taught in vocational or trade schools. Nursing, IT, allied health, clerical, accounting. The training you need will vary, and the time it takes will vary, but you don’t need a bachelors degree to be good at these things.
EXACTLY—why does Ivanka have to be involved in anything? I didnt vote for her or her husband
Sorry to learn that the tech schools have been infiltrated. Hopefully the leftards will wash out.
Yes!!
Personally, I’d prefer the President stay in Washington and focus on health care and tax reform.
Yes, you did. Ivanka made it clear what she stood for at the convention and Trump made it clear bringing her in to speak, along with Thiel, etc. Shows he is willing to put varying views around him and let them duke it out.
Ivanka is nice to look at and that’s about it.
Trump needs to get it through his thick skull that we elected him to MAGA. We did not elect his commie daughter and son in law.
You actually think that the president’s daughter and her husband are communists?
