Judiciary Dem asks GOP chairman to invite Trump to testify in public
The Hill ^ | June 9, 2017 | Cristina Marcos

Posted on 06/09/2017 6:00:01 PM PDT by HarleyLady27

After President Trump said Friday he is “100 percent” willing to testify under oath about the events that led to firing James Comey as FBI director, a House Democrat wants to take him up on it.

Within hours of Trump’s statement at a press conference in the White House Rose Garden, Rep. Luis Gutierrez

(D-Ill.) called on House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte

(R-Va.) to invite the president before their panel.

Little Luis is a POS, who imagines that when La Raza takes over this nation ( fat chance! LOL ), he’ll be one of those who rule.

I didn’t understand context of which the reporter asked today.

I was rather hoping Sessions would hand down enough indictments to keep the MenSeekingMen far too occupied to have time build the 24/7 month-long ‘Trump finally assents to testifying under oath after pressured regarding Comey remarks and Russian hacking of the election.’

MURPHY STATEMENT ON FORMER FBI DIRECTOR COMEY'S TESTIMONY
Thursday, June 8, 2017

WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) released a statement on Thursday on former FBI Director James Comey's testimony before the U.S. Senate Intelligence Committee:

"It's hard to overstate the impact of Jim Comey's testimony today. For the first time, under oath and penalty of perjury, the former FBI Director testified that the president repeatedly pressed him for a pledge of loyalty, and asked him to drop the investigation into illegal activity of a White House staffer at the center of the Russia probe. A couple months later, after neither request was fulfilled, Trump fired him," said Murphy. "That confirms that media reports aren't `fake news' - they're very real and very concerning."

"Every day, it seems like the walls are closing in on this president. What's most important is that investigators in the Senate and at the Department of Justice get all the facts and find the truth. If the White House's account differs from what we heard today, the American people deserve to hear the president's side of the story in a similar forum - under oath and open to the press," added Murphy.

Gutierrez is just piling on.

"President Lincoln today voluntarily appeared before the House Judiciary Committee," reported the New York Tribune, "and gave testimony in the matter of premature publication in the Herald of a portion of his last annual message."

Vice President Colfax appeared voluntarily before the House Select Committee concerning his ownership of stock in Credit Mobilier

Members of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee took testimony from President Wilson at the White House, concerning the treaty of peace with Germany, and establishment of a League of Nations.

President Ford voluntarily appeared before the Subcommittee at the Capitol to explain the reasons behind his pardon of former President Richard M. Nixon.

-- I didn't understand context of which the reporter asked today. --

President Trump and the president of Romania gave remarks, and took questions. The press is setting the public agenda, as usual.

-- I was rather hoping Sessions would hand down enough indictments to keep the MenSeekingMen far too occupied to have time build the 24/7 month-long `Trump finally assents to testifying under oath after pressured regarding Comey remarks and Russian hacking of the election.' --

There is no good way to keep the press preoccupied with irrelevancies. Consider that Comey gave Trump a clean bill yesterday. The press report following was "Trump IS NOW under investigation for crimes."

They have nothing because there isn’t anything there other than a completely fabricated premise.

Been thinking if these clowns really want this McCarthyism to continue, why don’t Republicans start looking into some of these Democrats ties to Russia? Now that might be interesting.

Congress is not worthy to hear testimony from anyone under oath or otherwise.

A cockroach should not lower itself to testify before these maggots.

The congress and senate are the lowest forms of life on this planet.

Well, there is that problem of our backstabbing NeverTrumper Speaker Paul Ryan. He craps on Trump every chance he gets, but then, he’s a bona fide swamp dweller, who has every reason to want the swamp to remain. With his money and the backing of the RNC, they’ll do everything they can to see that any possible primary contender will be either a total dufus, or the RNC will bury him/her.

-- I don't worry about President Trump, he has dealt with much worse in his business... --

He's just the messenger. All these bogus challenges from the DEMs, and all the passive acquiesence by the GOP, is aimed at US, the people. Trump will come out fine, even if he loses. The people will NOT come out fine, if Trump loses.

IMHO the Donald still hasn’t come to grips with exactly how much power he has personally as President of the United States. He needs a good advisor to show him how to kick A$$ and get those recalcitrant congress critters off their duffs.

I’d like to see each of these wimpy Dems subject to an investigation and having to testify under oath. Then, POTUS.
