I have 2 nephews that are BP and they swear he hung the moon.He’s having problems with the bureaucrats at DHS but he’s “weeding” them out.
Cut off the freebies and stop giving them a spot ahead of American sons and daughters. There are immigration laws, let’s start with those. Unless of course the dreamers agony makes you melt like a snowman in hell. If they go through the rigorous process and pay taxes, fine.. no freebies unless they are on life support or pay taxes, not get earned income credit.. real cash money for a waiting period of 5 years, commit any crime.. done, deport.
While not mentioning Kelly specifically, I also have a BP relative that is more optimistic about the "new bosses".
When you find a magic wand that’ll allow you to deport all the illegals, give me a ping. Until then, we have to rely on the legislation on the books, money and manpower on hand. I’m not suffering from a surfeit of compassion. Just common sense :-)
Plus, this isn’t just “not kicking them out”, DHS is STILL PROCESSING. And not just renewing people who have DACA and are reaching the 2-year end date.
They are actually processing new applications, like 197 a week. So it’s not a “holding pattern” where we are letting those already under DACA stay, Kelly, at the same time he says Congress needs to pass a law to make this legal, is actively granting DACA rights to people anyway.
And since he is a new appointee, you have to assume that President Trump is on board with this.
well, there is that, too.
I really don’t have an opinion as to whether Trump intentionally lied about revoking DACA.
I lean toward it just being too much of a hot potato and that is why he backed off..but who knows.
The maddening thing is, if he wanted, Trump could probably get a decent DACA through congress, “decent” meaning one that clearly didn’t give too many rights away, one that was more narrowly focused, one that would be much better than what we’ll end up with the next time the democrats end up in power.
Meaning, if you are going to keep running the program anyway, why not be done with it as an issue, pass a law just good enough that a constituency for expanding it doesn’t exist, and that clearly prevents a future president from using executive authority to implement something more.
meanwhile, I’m betting that some judge WILL decide that a DACA person has some basic “right” to it, and therefore can’t be removed from the program after the 2-year period ends — because that’s what judges seem to be doing these days. They’ll probably claim it’s because Trump said bad things about immigrants during the election.

DACA or DAPA should be revoked. Too many of these bureaucrats, like John Kelly, seem all too happy to assume the role of moles for Mexico and other foreign powers.

Imagine liberal counts telling the government that they don't have a good enough reason to revoke DACA for individuals

So.. do dreamers get amnesty by your reckoning? Cut off 100 percent of freebies and enforce the laws on hiring illegals.. it’s not magic, it’s truth.
